  1. Ah...it didn't say that this morning, they must have changed it. Thats not a bad price I guess. I paid 100 less for all that, plus the iPod adapter from Crutchfield last May though.
  2. I haven't posted here in quite a while, so I don't know if this has been posted yet. On my way to work and figured you guys might be interested. 6th Ave is listed on Pioneer's website as an authorized retailer, but I've heard of people having trouble with the rebate from an online purchase. Unit - http://www.6ave.com/shop/Product.aspx?sku=PIOAVICD3 And I'm sure this is around, but rebate... http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... -In+Rebate

    Ipod Interface

Thats how mine is set up and I've been using it for a while. It's definitely the easiest way I've found so far.
  4. I used one from a D2. It has tabs that fit tight enough around it that it doesn't fall off. Here are some pictures: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... c&start=15
  5. black plug or white plug? black is power so im guessing thats what youre talking about?
  6. 18?? Geez...at BB we used to charge 9.99 for the GM to regular 'motorola plug' adapters, but hat was a few years ago... Thats still steep tho.
  7. Parking Brake wire is the lt. green/red wire at the parking brake switch (just follow where your pedal goes to and you should see it). Just curious though, you're not bypassing it? If you are bypassing, just ground the parking brake wire coming off the AVIC, don't connect it to your vehicle.
  8. Doesn't sound right. I have a listing for the VSS in your truck as: Speed sense in the yellow/black wire at the ECM, black 73 pin plug, pin 57 The ECM (Engine Control Module) is on the driver side fender, behind the headlight.
  9. Purple/white in the car is VSS. They aren't talking about the one coming off the AVIC.
  10. didn't like the ones in the gallery? pages 19 and 22?
  11. Nice. I learn a new trick everyday here
  12. I'm with you on this on Misfit. I haven't contributed nearly as much as you have, but I'm trying to give as much input as I can. It seems like some people just cannot take a little criticism. God forbid I tell someone to search on how to do the D3 bypass, or tell them to look in their user's manual for an answer on something that is clearly outlined. Now I'm the asshole because I wouldn't just hand over the information that they could easily have found themselves. As for the other guy, the only other thing I can think of is that maybe hes a hermie and you let everyone know his secre
  13. Come on man, its a sub stage. haha just kidding, this is a picture I found (really bored at work on a Saturday) Looks like an amp to me.
  14. As far as the unit dimming, it sounds like whoever hooked it up connected the illumination wire from the D3 to the overhead lamp in your car. You need to connect it to a source the puts out 12v when the headlights go on.
  15. It was open box, so technically they didn't need to give this to you, but yes it is needed to bypass. No Reroute the mute wire? You need a white harness. You're welcome.
  16. It is normal, and the iPod interface is actually pretty user friendly. To help out a LOT i did this from the iPod section: It makes going through artists a whole lot easier if you have a lot of them. You can select music from the iPod though. Just switch it to video mode on the D3. This will turn the screen on the D3 plain black, but let you use your iPod. You can always just switch to the map to have something on the screen.
  17. Ahh Harix... I thought you mean it was plain black when your car was off, i was like...uh yeah...
  18. ick. I mean, I can't really say what it does with the D3 (because I haven't experimented with it much) but usually loudness increases overall volume and distorts the sound a lot. The D3 has a few settings for the subs. If you've already tried turning up just the sub volume, or messing with the LPF (low pass filter) I don't know that there is much more you can do. What are you listening to thats giving you bad quality? Burned CD's and MP3s from an outside source can sound bad if you have low quality music. The radio is never going to sound good. Real CDs and DVDs should sound ok

    07 Element VSS

    Same here: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7036 http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5911

  21. Speed Sense is the dk.green/white wire at the ECM. The ECM (Engine Control Module) is located near the battery, down low, between the fender and the fan under the black plastic cover. On the 4.3L, the VSS wire is at pin 3 in the connector labeled black. On the 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L, the VSS wire is located in pin 50 of the red connector.
