I have a 06 VW Touareg. Do you know if I need an additional CAN-BUS interface if I want to connect my AVIC-D3 to my vehicle's VSS? Thanks!!!

I had a similar quote from a chaing store of $250 for just the nav head unit, $40 for the bluetooth, $25 dollars for the iPod and they refused to do the video bypass. The iPod price pissed me off, cost more then the cable. I called around to a couple independent shops and found a similar rate $65/hr for 1.5 hr install and they will do the bypass. In my research found out at the big box stores, the install guys get half the install cost and the stores keeps the rest. Getting mine installed next week once all the parts are in....I can't wait.

Yeah, I am going to source all the parts myself. The prices at the electronics stores are about 20% higher then online such as amazon or other sites.

I have a 2006 VW Touareg with stock (base Radio) 10 speakers and no external amp. I would like to install the AVIC-D3 along with the iPod adapter and Pioneer bluetooth adapter and had a few questions: 1) Anyway to keep the steering wheel controls. '06 Touareg has radio volume controlls on the SW. Others, which I care less about, have to be accessed through cumbersom menu. Is there an adapter brand that works for this make model? 2) My sound system sounds great now, will I need to install an external amp in addition to the new head unit? 3) How easy is this to install? I alrady talk

I was thinking about installing the AVIC D3 along with the CD-BTB200. If I do the Mute / Brake bypass, do I need to do the same mod to get the mute to work for incoming calls? or will it do this automaticaly? Thanks this site is awesome.
