  1. This is is what I would do. Move the mute wire and ground it before you take it to them. Tell them its a mod that you did to it. Tell them not to mess with it or the radio won't work. After the install reach under the dash and look for the wire connected to your parking brake, remove it and ground it. That should be easy to do.
  2. Yes, at least on mine it does. I have an 80g Ipod video. When I turn off my Z2 it pauses the ipod and eventually shuts down. When I turn on my Z2, it resume right where it left off.

    BestBuy Install

Drop by the store and talk to the installers and ask questions(lots). You can tell by talking to an installer if they know their stuff. And don't let them tell you that "yeah I can install alarms, I'm MECP certified", cause that don't mean shit. The bay I work at, both my install sup and I have over 15 years of experience each, so we know what we're doing. Its all these kids without experience that they hire at other stores thinking they can install anything that give us a bad name. We do alot of repairs for our neighboring Best Buy stores. Most of the problems come from bad installs, a
  4. pj818mbr, when I first got my Z2 i hated the ipod interface. And then I came across your post. It works great. It took me a couple of times to get it at first on my 80g. I have found that if you press the play button for one second then plug in the connector while holding the play button until the ipod shuts down, it works everytime. There has been a couple of times when it doesn't work, but all I have to do is reset the ipod or turn the ipod off plug in the connector, let the Z2 turn on the ipod, unplug and try again. You still get the auto pause and play, full function of the iPod thropugh t
  5. Did you by any chance have the stock speakers replaced as well when you had the D3 installed.. Because if you did there is a very good chance that 4ohm speakers were used and the your bose system uses 2ohm. This would cause the volume to be half as loud than it originally was. As far as the Bose system being connected to the D3 speaker output(high level), that would work fine. That wouldn't be the problem, if its connected that way you would get full volume from your stereo system having the D3 only at half volume. The speaker level output signal is alot bigger than the RCA low level sign
  6. On the a/v source menu you can select what is displayed on an external monitor. The "rear screen" button has to be set to mirror. In this setting the external monitor will display whatever is on your Z2 screen. So you have to have the map display on your Z2. That is the only way. You can't have your a/v menu on your Z2 screen and the map on an external monitor.
  7. The D3 doesn't support RDS. What pisses me off is that not even the $2300 Z2 supports it.
  8. Did you replace the speakers? Because if you did, your Bose speakers are more than likely 2 ohms. And most aftermarket speakers are 4ohms, which explains the low volume. You could either, bypass the factory Bose amp, add an amp to power your new speakers or try to find two ohm speakers.
  9. How do you lower the phone volume on the Z2, I haven't been able to figure it out.
  10. I'm with you. I wish there was a way to at least edit the database. I hate having to edit the artist or song playlist on the Z2. And it seems that the album name can't be edited. Alot of the info is wrong or its in all caps. If I pop in a cd in my computer the album info is correct( using Winamp, it uses Gracenote) but if I pop it in the Z2 sometimes its wrong. So I gues that means that Pioneer needs to release an update. The worst thing is that the majority of the info submitted to Gracenote is by us the consumer and Gracenote doesn't check to see if the submitted info is correct, which a
  11. I guess it didn't solve the echo problem, because my brand new Z2 has lots of echo on bluetooth. It annoys the crap out of the person on the other side, that I just don't use it anymore.

    Editing Gracenote

Is there any way possible to edit the Garcenote cddb database.
  13. Here is the part number you need, it has both the main harness and sub harness. Scosche - FDK11B, you can get it at any Best Buy, Circuit, Car toys. Yes your expedition has a separate amp for your sub, on the sub harness be sure to connect the remote turn on lead. Its the blue/white wire.
  14. What about the audio for the rear entertainment. With my current Kenwood indash setup I can listen to a cd(using the cd changer),radio or watch tv while my kids watch a movie off the dvd. My kenwood has an audio/video output which are connected to the rear monitor and IR transmitter for audio. I just recently installed a D3 in a customers Toyota Tundra( I think it was a Tundra, too many cars since that install) and noticed that the D3 only has video out. The customer was in a hurry so I didn't get to mess wioth it. Is there a way I can listen to the radio while my kids watch a movie with usin
