So just tap the radios ill wire into any park light wire at the headlight switch??

By far the easiest DD install ive really ever done. I still lack hooking up the dimmer. My lord that nav screen is bright at night!!! So far it seems really nice. Nav was spot on after a few minutes of sitting in the cul-de-sac. Overall im pleased! Just figured id ad this. Ill take some pics tomorrow.

What fouled mine up was the fact I ordered in last week on friday. I paid for 2nd day shipping too. I have faith. Mine'll get here!!

When did you order it and what shipping method? Ordered it last Saturday. Well it arrived today, the Avic D3 anyway, the reciept/packing slip inside the box is for the D3 as well as the Xm Nav Traffic module (GEX-P10XMT) except that the only thing I recieved was the D3 no GEX-P10XMT so I guess I will be on the phone with them again tommorow. It seems as if they might have very good prices but the old saying still applies you get what you pay for. At this point I wish I would have just ordered from Crutchfield or even straight through Amazon. Hopefully I haven't ended up paying 900 dollars

How many GPS/DGPS locks does it usually need before its ready for navigation?? Or will the D3 even recognize a DGPS signal?

Anybody have some nice Silverado backgrounds??? Kinda like the ones below but with the Silverado logo to use as a loading screen?? I cant find any nice ones plus I am terrible with Photoshop or the latter. I had the DDX-7015, which has the same iPod interface as your 8017, and it sucked. The DNX-7100 has a very different iPod interface than yours. The new version of yours, the DDX-8019, has the same new updated iPod interface as the DNX-7100. You can see pictures of the new iPod interface on this site under the Kenwood 7100 thread in the "Other Navigation Systems" section. I haven't tried it yet, but according to the manual, you can add user wallpapers via USB. Well Ill say its about time. But im still not buying another one.

I had a DDX8017. I was extremely disappointed with that unit. The face rattled, the buttons rattled, no wallpapers, crappy menus. The iPod control was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! I just was not as pleased with that unit as I was with the Alpine W200 I had. Unless Kenwood seriously revamped their iPod compatability I would never even think about owning another of their units. I understand that the DNX7100 has the plain no frills menus too with no option for different wallpapers. Just some wierd textrues.
