  1. Lol, that's pretty funny, I just did an 08 mustang gt this past saturday (3/7/09) for a avic-f90bt. It's pretty easy as long as you have the right parts. As someone previously mentioned, the 5521 harness, dash kit, and chrylser antenna adapter. The pink wire goes to vss. Most of the sites and forums online say the car uses a CAN signal and doesn't have a vss, but I did find some sites that listed it. I found is easily connected it and worked perfectly. it's at the ecu under the hood, right behind the passenger side headlight. The wire's in the top plug, bottom left corner of the plug
  2. Hey, hopefully one of you members can help me out. I have an N3 headunit and an n2 brain. I connected a gexp920xm and I'm getting the crappy one line display. Doesn't the n2 feature the enhanced xm display? I Know the ipod and sirius are only enhanced with n3 brains. I though the n2 enhances xm though. If so, does this mean something is wrong with the brain? I know I've installed d2's that were supposed to have enhanced ipod display's but didn't.
  3. Have you placed the nav disc in the n2, sometimes they need it to load properly the first time. If that's not it, then maybe it's due to the flex cable or the unit is just messed up, sry
  4. just go onto pioneer's site, get the info and send it in. I sent in just the n1 brain, and had it back within two weeks and it worked perfectly. Didn't have to include any kind of receipt or the brain. I'm in jersey, i think it was sent to ohio or something, can't remember. But it was really easy.
  5. Yeah, get a new disk, it's probably scratched. I've replaced nav disks many times b/c of scratches, sometimes they say they're not the right one, other times they just stop functioning half way through searching for an address. You can download the 70mtp here and burn it yourself, or just buy one off ebay.
  6. I would try a hard reset, and then check your setting, go to menu, settings tab, and hardware information, see what kind of strength the antenna is pulling in. Obviously the vss will remain at 0. That sounds like it could be the issue, b/c even though the vss is not connected, it shouldn't be off by more than 10-15 feet.
  7. definitely flex cable. If you have it replaced right away then they probably just replaced it with the same defective part, they were doing that at first until the improved cable came out. Many people have had there flex cable go bad more than once even after proper pioneer service. I would just send it back and see if they will replace it.
  8. LOL, it sounds like you have the hideaway unit mounted correctly but upside down. For example if you have it mounted to the underside of your rear deck, if you lay in the trunk and look at the brain you shouldn't be able to read hideaway unit, that's the top. Mounting it upside down would keep forwards and backwards correct, but would switch left and right.
  9. try searching a little next time http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=140
  10. I've tried and messed up my unit, many have successfully, be extremely careful. I would recommend letting an experienced person do it, b/c if you mess it up, your f*cked. Pay the 100bucks and let same day audio repair do it, they've repaired 2 of my units and they've worked perfectly since.
  11. yeah, agree with whtcr, sounds like vss and antenna not connected, if you ever have to modify your location more then 20 feet on the map that usually indicates your antenna is not connected. Go to menu, setting, hardware info and it should give you the readings, drive around and see what it says for ant reception and vss.
  12. when you say picture is not coming out, do you mean the screen is completely black or it won't show you the video picture, for example b/c the driving lock is activated? If it's not the driving lock and the screen is just wigging out then it sounds like the flex cable issue. Is so, then this symptom is just the beginning and more stuff will begin messing up.

next time try the search, this has been beaten to death. If you have the original cndv40 version 1.1 or 1.2 then just grounding the ebrake wire will perform the bypass. If you upgraded the unit with newer software then the only way to byass it is to open it up and solder to extremely small points together. If you don't want to do this then downgrade back to the original software.
  14. Get all the right vehicle specific parts, pioneer desired accessories, figure out how to properly perform the video while driving bypass and then get started.
  15. Even if the bypass was done you still need to ground the e-brake (light green) wire. ground that and you should be able to change all the setting and watch movies and stuff. To change the backgrounds just follow either pioneer instructions or from a post on this forum. I just take a cdr and place to folders on it, one title "BG" and another with any title. I fill the bg with all the background pics and the other with some video files. I think it can be anything other than music, b/c if it's music the n2 will think it's a music cd and not a background cd. That's basically it, then just import
  16. Sry to double post but you have a 95 chevy full size what? Specifically what type of truck, and what wire did you connect it to.
  17. I believe you have to go on into the settings menu and then hardware info to read if vss is working. If it just says 0 while driving then you don't have it connected to the right wire. The gauges don't work right away after connecting vss. Sometimes they take a day or two until the unit calibrates to the vehicle.

  19. Sorry but i couldn't find anything for a 2000. But I did find info for a 99. 1999 SUBARU OUTBACK 4DR WAGON Speed Sense = GREEN/BLACK (AC) PASSENGER FLOOR POS 83 OF ECM or Green/Black = Passenger Floor - Pos 83 of ECM Passenger Floor-96 pin conn position 93 Not exactly sure what that means, but check those pin numbers and wire colors. It may be the same.
  20. this info if for a 2008 CHEVROLET SILVERADO C2500 2DR TRUCK WITH 6.0L ENGINE, It's the closest I could find Speed Sense = YELLOW/BLACK (AC) AT ECM MODULE UNDER HOOD ON DRIVER FENDER - BLACK PLUG PIN #57 Another source says: 2008 Chevy Silverado UNDER VEHICLE DRIVERS SIDE ABS MODULE, ONLY GREEN/WHITE WIRE
  21. Here's the stuff you need: dash kit: Metra 99-9011 Harness: Metra XSVI-9003 Antenna Adapter: Metra 40-EU55 Just pick up this stuff and it's a snap, the dash kit comes with instructions on how to take the dash apart. I've used an xsvi-9003 before it didn't work right. newer vw cars don't have an accessory signal behind the radio. This piece creates the signal but I used it once and it just randomly would turnoff the radio. I recommend just buying a regular metra 70-9003 harness and running an accessory lead to the ignition harness but that's a little difficult for a newbie. So try the xs
