Just as an fyi, my backup camera flickers in and out sometimes and I didn't know y. Because of the forum i know the answer but dont want to trade in to get a new unlockable version. My installer had a switch put in so that when i flip up full power to camera and when down it only comes on in reverse, rearview mode will show black screen. Well when my screen blacks out due to the Z1 i flip the switch down then back up and rearview mode come right back on again. dont know y it works but i have no problems anymore. The switch was originally installed so that when not using rearview mode my camera

Thanks, it seems all roads lead to Ducati boys circuit. I use remote start all the time and its a pain to turn the car off and back on again. I appreciate it

Ducati, In order to install your device the radio has to be taken out right. Is there a way it can be done without. I had woodgrain installed around the z1 and since my authorized pioneer dealer wont install your gadget I have to have someone else do it. I must admit although the flash isn't that bad it is a nuisance.

The Crimestopper License plate camera is great. Great Angle, color, night vision is great. All you need is very minimal light and it shows very good. Best of all no drilling required.

So if I have the installer hook the z1 up to the ac power line then the radio would power on, is that correct. Thats what I want because the remote start flashed my lights within 5-8 seconds of me pressing the button w]hich would trigger the bypass. i would buy ducatiboys device if i could find someone who would hook it up. ive already had wood finish put around the radio and don't want it to be destroyed. the folks who put the z1 in was a pioneer authorized dealer and wouldn't intall it. But back to it all I have to do is hook ac line up to z1 and im good. I dont care about the screen coming

I have a crimestopper remote start/alarm on a 1999 acura 3.5 rl. When the car is remote started the car runs and the parking lights flash and stay on but the z1 is OFF. Once i insert the key in the ignition and turn right the z1 powers up and at that point i do the flash but it doesnt work. When reading the post the flash trick was found by someone with remote start so i would think his z1 turned on with it but mine does not. any thoughts as to y it doesn't come on until key is in then y doesn't flash work

Can anyone with a remote start tell me if when they remote start their vehicle if the z1 comes on too. Mine does not and then when I try to flash the headlights after inserting the key it doesn't work. I have to cut the car off and flash then it works fine. I know my timing isn't off when flashing cuz i never miss a beat normally. its like second nature. My z1 cuts on after i insert the key and turn all the way to the right. Can anyone help. Also how to I upload pictures

The crimestopper rear view camera works great in the day or night. It is full license plate with the camera hidden at the top. On my acura rl if I didn't tell you it was there you wouldn't see it. The picture quality is superb during the day and average at night. the only time its grainy is if its totally pitch black but even then i can still see. I recommend that one over any drilling or the pioneer. The map/rear view mode is great but yes it has to have a constant 12v going to it and when you go in reverse the z1 overides any picture on the screen and switches to the full rear view mode. loo

I am interested in the piece. I will purchase soon once I order my xm radio converter that way I can install all at once. You and the Z1 are the shid.

You have made my frustration go away. Thank you so much. I will take a look in a second and 2morrow morning after I come from the install place I will let you know how it turned out. other than that the voice command is so cool and this forum is the best. The funny thing is I went to an authorized pioneer dealer. they obviously didn't know all there is to know about the system.

Ok, is this something I can do without the shops help. Can I run the camera power of off the red power lead to the amp which is already in the trunk or would that mess up the amp. I assume it wouldn't becuase the camera isn't taking up much power but I don't want to blow anything. I have not installed anything in a while and I figure why run a separate wire all the way to the battery if there is a power wire in the amp right or wrong?

The instructions say to save time hook it up to the camera power at the rear of the vehicle behind the reverse lights. Well that makes sense now but how do I hook it up. If I hook the power up to the battery or a constant 12v source will the camera still automatically switch to full screen backup automatically or will I have to manually switch somehow

A shop installed this Crimestopper Rear Vision Camera model SV-5600 PC-F when I asked for the pioneer. I didn't think it mattered when they said it was a license plate kind. I know how to install but I couldn't find a kit so I paid to have one made and system installed. Ill post pics of my 99 acura rl soon. I switched the polarity to ground, it still comes on in reverse but when i move forward the message image may be reversed comes on and the screen is totally black. The instuctions for hookup for teh crimestopper say black wire is grounded and the red= +12VDC from reverse light. Which wires

I meant when I turn on the car most of the time is goes straight to dvd becuase I was watching it and when I hit map the map comes up and I hit map again the view modes and when I hit the rear view mode half the screen is black with the other showing a map. My polarity is set to battery and the camera works in reverse

I don't know what else to do. I can't access the dvd-v control or the screen mode (full, 16:9, etc). That is also greyed out. When the car switches to reverse I have always gotten a full screen backup camera and I can switch it while in reverse to show the split screen map/rear view mode but when I put in drive the picture blacks out. this is happening although full navi function available (thanks to flicker of lights.) the instruction booklet says rear view camera should be on which mine is and the polarity is on battery. Does your camera come on in rear view split screen mode? I can't get mine to come on. It shows the map on the right side but blacks out the rear view cam?

I'm sorry Ducati if this is a stupid question but is the NAV button also the Map button that takes you to map view. when I press it again it gives me the list of options like driver view, vehicle dynamics, etc. When I turn on the car do I use the light flash or just do it regular. When I turn my car on it goes to dvd. Your guidance is appreciated. I been reading these posts for months prior to buying and can't believe I don't know this

Help I just had a Z! installed properly (using headlight flash) and am very impressed. I love it but I can't get the reav view mode to show what's in back of me with the split screen map while moving forward. Can anyone help please?
