Speed Sensor causing GPS problems?
installthis06 replied to TempleJazz82's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
ok...so what did you do? -
No the only cable that goes from the brain to the screen is the black data cable. The ip-bus cable only goes from the add-ons to the brain.

Someone said on here once that its at the instrument cluster. Might have been a pathfinder but probably a similar set up in there. -
A few questions before finishing the install...
installthis06 replied to Bastinado's topic in General
Yea the resistors are needed because the newer ford systems use a 6v amp turn on, as opposed to a 12v turn on that the aftermarkets use. Resulting in a POP whenever you turn the radio on..really annoying -
Yea I would just make your gf pay the 15%..haha

Probably, some fiberglassing/cutting the sub dash is going to be required. Its going to be a pain in the ass.

2004 Pontiac Grand Prix and D3 or Z2: Too Deep?
installthis06 replied to royrapoport's topic in Vehicle Specific Wiring
Yea there is a piece of plastic on the grand prix in the rear that you can remove if need be. -
How bout you worry about solving the problem on hand and not worry about my patience. Anyways...if its hooked up correctly and you have at your source...then either the cable or the camera is broken. Who did you buy the camera from? I just had a customer by a camera from yescom or something from ebay and I installed it yesterday and it turned out pretty nice. I think he paid like $60.

Jeep Cherokee 2004/D3 - please help
installthis06 replied to Dreamcatcher2007's topic in Problems/Troubleshooting
you my friend have a 1.5 din opening. The d3 is a double din aka 2 din...You would have to cut out that plastic, and or make some sort of fiberglass surround. Or you could buy a new car.. -
yea no need for backseat drivers
-
that rear camra input would need the purple/white wire to be hooked up. if you want it to be on all the time use a video input of the brain, then you will see the video. You dont want to use the camra input. Well that wouldn't be the best solution, as you can have it on all the time if it was hooked up correctly. You should have that reverse wire hooked up too for it to work right as well. I would have to say that the cigarette lighter isn't giving it enough power, or that the camera is broken. Try a different rca cable. Meter all of the wires and tell us what you have. If you canno

The screen cannot be always black..can you please be more discriptive. If your meaning that it is black and you have your gps stuff on a bar on the side then...check all your connections. If the connections are all good, then the camera is probably non functional

When you click on address book..click on the button right after the name, looks like a bunch of scrible lines and not the map little button. Then you should be able to go in there and set it to no sound

How do you have it connected?
