    peace out.

Hey, been away from the forum for awhile, came on here, got my maps updated and used your installer to replace my really outdated mods from October. Great to see how far things have come. I had one issue with your installer, more specifically with the Image.res file. Your iGo UI mods, work WONDERFULLY, however the Image.res theme used in the installer caused my iPod to not register on bootup every single time. This happened consistently for about a week. I would have to disconnect and reconnect the iPod in order to get it to work. I booted into test mode and put back the stock Image.res and no
  2. Sorry to excite. I meant that I miss the channel "Fine Tuning" the got taken off when XM and Sirius merged music channels a couple months back. There was/is no new channel to replace it. I WISH they would would bring back FT or atleast a suitable replacement. Also, yeah, it is BS with Stern sucking $100 mil out of the company each year. That however supposedly covers not just stern but everyone involved with the broadcast. BTW, not a Stern fan here, so for all I care they got rid of him. What the company needs to do is get rid of the damn DJs blathering all over my music channels. I don
  3. Hopefully then the management can be changed up and get rid of the terrestrial-radio owning screwheads from Sirius. Then maybe we can get rid of the blathering DJs and get rid of some of the Artist only channels to free up bandwidth for better SQ across the board. I'm still pissed about the loss of the Fine Tuning channel, found it just weeks before it went off the air.
  4. http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/10/report-sirius-xm-preparing-to-file-for-bankruptcy/ This is bad news. I hope they get bought out by Echostar, but I doubt it in this economic climate. It will suck not having an alternative to Terrestrial radio when it comes to new music. Will have to stick to iPod when/if satellite radio is no more. The quality of programming both content (yammering DJs) and sound quality have dropped significantly for me since the merger, but still will miss it when gone.
  5. I switched from an 8120 to an F700 and haven't looked back. The Pioneer just has a much better look and feel to it and some awesome features that the KW does not have that I find useful on a daily basis.
  6. You are a god. lol. Seriously though, I can't thank you enough for all the hard work you put in. All of the logos both list and normal views show up perfectly on the F series. I like how you made the logos as large as possible with little gray area around the images. Good job man. BTW, how did you figure out how to make an icon for Holly show up? I spent quite a while on that and never figured it out. Thanks again man, all your hard work is truly appreciated here!
  7. I'll definitely get back to you on the logos tomorrow. I have had a hectic couple of days after having my wallet and cell phone stolen from me (Credit cards, driver's license, cash, etc), but tomorrow I'll give those logos a go.
  8. Thanks, Vandal, for all your hard work. I will give those logos a test out tomorrow and let you know how it goes. I don't THINK that the F series cuts anything off of the image for a border or anything since I have made some replacement logos that showed up perfectly, bit for bit. Thanks again.
  9. No, I don't mean the "iPod is not recognized" message that came up. Thats a different issue that has been resolved. I'm talking about the iPod just straight up dropping on boot. The SD and iPods are both running off of an internal bus controller on the Avic. That is how they are linked. Basic computer HW knowledge here.
  10. Can you upload the theme that you are using currently kdoll? The one that you have on the other page does not have the AV source icons in it. That's all I want to have on my image.res any way. Those main 3 icons and the source icons.
  11. Yeah, that imagetbl.dat file was good only up until the rock stations. I never got around to finishing them so Rawdog, etc wouldn't show up nor anything beyond like channel 56 or so.
  12. 360*96 for the F series, I don't know what the D3 uses, probably the same size as the Z. The F uses higher res than any of the previous models since it's got such a high res screen. 136x40 was the res that I was trying to remember. That would work for your Z no problem of course. I don't know how the F reacts with improperly sized images. Also, more about that batch resizer! I was going to search for something like that to do the list icons once I can get the full size PNGs of the new channel logos extracted from the Channel Line up PDF.
  13. Mind you the BMPs for the Avic channels have to be 360x90 for the big ones and 90x30 for the list ones. These are considerably larger than the ones for the Z (IIRC 138x96 or something). Also, bit depth does not seem to matter on the F. 16 and 32 bit BMPs all show up just fine.
  14. Yep, just went out and checked, The Highway has the Highway 16 logo, Top Tracks, Big Tracks, everything shows up. So we have come to the conclusion that the name length does NOT matter in this case. Also, I added a space to the end of Holly's name and no dice, can't figure this one out. Also, I noticed that the categories for Latin and World are merged into "Latin/World" now, and that category automatically took on the icon for "Latin" without having to be modded to do so. So I am thinking that the channel name in the imagetbl.dat only has to be long and correct enough for the first word a
  15. I edited up to Channel 56 (Jam_ON) to be ready for their logos. I'm sure you are able to tell that from looking. I've got to finish the rest tomorrow. Unless of course you decide to go ahead and change the rest and send me your file. That would be cool too, lol. There's not too many more that need to be changed, most are done in that file so that right now the channels have their old logos working, so all we have to do is create new logos for them and swap in the BMP files, or in your case the PIMs. Yeah, it is nice being able to just run in and out of the house and try new files with the
  16. I did the same thing for my categories. I made a Christmas tree for Holiday. Came out looking pretty factory. UPDATE: I got the icon for the new Elvis channel working, that was one channel that was a line pure zeros in the original imagetbl.dat and I added all of the parameters and made an icon for it and bam, it showed up. There has never been anything on XM channel 18 before. So for whatever reason, this works, but doing the same for Holly does not work. The only possible thing I can think of is maybe they are broadcasting a space at the end of the channel name that we are not seeing and
  17. So, my last complaint with the F series has been that it has been dropping my iPod constantly on bootup about half the time. I got my F700BT a few days before Halloween. My iPod didn't drop once until the 4th day or so. Then it dropped continuously atleast once every day upon bootup. For the past two days, I have gotten in and out of my car about 10 times a day and the iPod was picked up EVERY SINGLE TIME. I also noticed something else... I noticed that I have not had my SD card in the unit either. I also did not start leaving my SD card in the unit until about 4 days after I got the unit
  18. I'm working on the Imagetbl.dat file right now. Once I can establish that I can get the proper station names in that file along with their file pointers/channel numbers and get some kind of logo on all/most of the channels, then I'll continue going through and updating the channel images. I will have the imagetbl.dat file done hopefully tomorrow and then get crackin on the logos. Note: I also found that the channel number bit in the imagetbl.dat doesn't really matter. If you notice, the Broadway channel, and Cinemagic have moved into the 70s now, from the upper 20s, but the logo remains.
  19. Update: I can not for the life of me get XM35 Holly's Icon to work. I DID however get the 40s on 4 icon to work and presumably any other channel number that are there normally. Just wish I could get Holly and probably any other new channel numbers to work. I will however continue working on the icons.
  20. ALAC can only be decoded and played from the iPod. The Avic would need to do the decoding onboard if it were to play ALAC off of USB/SD, whereas with the iPod, the processor on the iPod is decoding the ALAC and sending the raw analog audio feed over the iPod cable and the Avic does not have to use any of it's own processing power for the decoding. This is why MP4 videos play so quickly and responsively off the iPod, yet so choppy and slow off of USB/SD media. The iPod acts as sort of a second processor for the Avic.
  21. Apple Lossless Codec (ALAC) is awesome. Works great with the iPod, music is bit for bit from the CD using lossless compression, and you get voice control, album art, and all the other wonderful features of the iPod on the avic, along with lossless audio. There are several converters out there that convert FLAC and other lossless to ALAC really fast too, so it's not too painful if you already have a large lossless library in another format.
  22. Right now, I'm working on editing the Imagetbl.dat File. I understand that the first bit is the logo pointer, the second one is the number of characters in the channel name, and the 3rd one is the channel number, and the 4th through 20th bits are the channel name. I tested this out with a "Holly" icon I created for XM35 Holly and no luck getting it to show up yet. I'll update later today when/if I get that to work. Once I do, I will continue on with the rest of the channels. Right now, I am taking the icons straight from their respective XM channel pages and all are the same size (138x50)
  23. I'm working on them right now. Lot of Photoshop work. I'll post up my update Xm folder this weekend, when/if I get to finish.
  24. The angle of orientation reverts, not the zoom levels.
