  1. Well, I have to agree with most of the comments on here. I really wanted to like my Z2, since I paid so much for it, but it's really starting to be a pain in the butt. My nav system is really acting up. It might tell me to take a turn off going down the freeway with 100 miles to go, for absolutely no reason. And then it gives me turn directions that are no where close to the route. It does recalculate, but that's because it has to because it told me to take the wrong turn in the first place. Then it just goes bananas and all of the sudden your car is off the highway miles from where you
  2. I have to agree. The POI pretty much sucks. No specific examples to cite, actually too many to cite. I keep trying to use it but it never seems to find what I'm looking for. Just my 2 cents.
  3. Thanks again Inferno. I did read all the documentation (well not all of it), but enough to define the reset methods and I did a level 3 reset shortly after doing the lastest update on Gracenote. That got rid of my BT file in the Z2 so it doesn't keep asking my BB Pearl for a password. There are some nice features that I'll miss using the Z2 bluetooth, but in the end I guess it's worth it. It's too bad that the Pioneer BT didn't behave and play nice with the BB. I switch between BT devices all the time with no problem, but the Pioneer just wouldn't disconnect from the BB as long as it coul
  4. Thanks Inferno, some good information here, especially on your website. A quick question about resets. I don't know what the different levels are (yet) but if I do the one where you power on, hold the map button down, does that wipe your address book? That's the only real information I don't want to lose. By the way, just fyi... I did take the Pioneer device off my BT list on my phone and set the phone to "not discoverable" but all day long in the car the Pioneer BT system kept polling my phone and asking for the security code. Pain in the butt! The way I use this, I like using t
  5. Please see my post... http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12690 I'm having exactly the same problems, plus some others with the same phone. It's not the phone as it works fine with 3 other BT headsets. It's obviously something with the Z2 BT-ND1. I'm interested to hear if anyone finds a fix. I can't even find that there are any adjustments on the BT, except for the volume through the car audio system.
  6. No I haven't paired any other phones to the Z2 but I have tried 3 other headsets with the BB Pearl and they all work exactly like they are supposed to. The delay in connecting is only with the Z2. I've also noticed that if you turn the volume just a little too high, the feedback to the caller is unbearable. I'm about to join another poster who asked about how to unpair the two. Is there a way just to turn off the bluetooth module in the Z2? I really haven't been able to find much on any of the technical information on the ND-BT1 from Pioneer.
  7. I'm using the ND-BT1 bluetooth adapter with my Z2 and everything connects and works fine, except....when you make a call out, the icon shows the BT is connected, the radio mutes, but you don't hear the call ringing until after the phone is picked up and the call-ee starts talking. Then you get about a 2 second delay before you start hearing the voice. I've tried this with another BT headset and everything works fine. The problem is only with the ND-BT1. I can't really find any kind of settings on that unit except for the volume through the Phone Settings menu. Anyone else having
  8. Yeah, I did. From PAC (Pacific Acc Corp). They make a pretty inexpensive steering wheel Interface (SWI) that plugs right into the Outlook's harness. I did however have some problems and have to call them for help. They were very knowledgeable and helpful and had the problem fixed in a few minutes. It had to do with cutting one of the wires from the harness that was causing a grounding loop. After that, the steering wheel controls worked perfectly. Just fyi...I would have done this in the first place but the installer told me that there was no way to keep the steering wheel controls w
  9. Just to throw in my 2 cents, I have an Outlook and went the Z2 route with all the option modules. I did also have to buy the extra harness, and it is absolutely necessary to keep all the GM functions, not just the OnStar. Mine works very good. I'm happy that I spent the extra money and went the Pioneer route instead of the factory nav unit. I do have a couple of questions though if anybody is listening. #1. Once in a while the nav system seems like it just blinks out, and it wants me to turn off the road onto another route. Bummer. Sometimes it's not so obvious and I end up a coup
  10. I have a Z2 upgrade and bypass, everything has been working fine for the past 3 months, until today. Now, the phone automatically connects to the Pioneer bluetooth unit (as before) but now as soon as it connects, it mutes the radio and I can't change the volume and the phone connect is active. It shows the little red phone (disconnect) icon in the upper right corner but you can't disconnect or hang it up. The phone isn't actually online with a dial tone, but the bluetooth thinks it is. Then, when you do make a call it works as usual, but again the red phone icon stays one even after you've
  11. Well, I bought a PAC SWI for my 2007 Saturn Outlook (and they sent an X), but then sent the right part. Using the supplied and online instructions, found the BCM, the right connector, the right wire and got it hardwired. But in the programming, the thing goes haywire. I programmed it for Version 1, as instructed, but then when I start to try to program the 7 individual buttons, the programming goes fine for the first 3 buttons, then the programming LED comes on and won't go out. It loses the program, even for the version #. And if I try to plug the mini-plug into the wired remote control
  12. This looks exactly like my 2007 Saturn Outlook (GMC Acadia). Does this steering wheel control interface with the factory buttons? Thanks Tony
  13. Is there a way to do this on the 2007 Saturn Outlook using the factory station changers, up/down volume and mute buttons? Thanks, Tony
  14. I think each Circuit City is different, since it's not really CC doing the install, but the individual installer. With CC, just like Best Buy and many others, you have some inexperienced guys, but usually there is a "pro" somewhere in the picture. This is not your standard navigation system install for $159. I had a Z2 with bluetooth, ipod and Sirius modules installed for $185, at CC in Florence KY. About 4 hours. I talked with the installer beforehand and I felt like he was very competent. My post may be pre-mature since I just got the car back yesterday, but so far it looks great
