  1. The Control Waze from Car Unit prompt only appears after you physically connect to the AppRadio. (you won't find the option/setting when not connected to the AppRadio in stand alone Waze) Waze is the perfect GPS AppRadio App! (love it) The native full screen controls are wonderful
  2. No you don't it's an over priced package of standard cables! All you need is 1 - USB to Lightning cable. ($1.70 on dx.com) deal extreme free shipping! http://dx.com/s/iphone%2blightning%2bcable?Sort=PriceL2H You'll plug this between the AppRadio (usb port on pigtail) and the HDMI Lightening Adapter 1 - HDMI cable (only $2 on monoprice.com) http://www.monoprice.com/Category?c_id=102&cp_id=10240 You'll also plug this between the AppRadio (hdmi port) and the HDMI Lightening Adapter 1 - Lightning to HDMI adapter ($39-$50) http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O
  3. I think I read you need to change the AppRadio settings from Digital to Analog or something like that. I just got my AppRadio 3 and have an iPhone 5, but I remember reading about your problem somewhere else.
  4. My new AppRadio 3 was installed Friday. I've been playing around, so far so good. Thanks to AppRadio Extensions things like Google Maps are touch enabled I didn't expect to like MixTrax so much. It's breathed new life into my music mixes, and I love the short attention span mode track to track all matching beats. It really sucks that you can't have MixTrax running in the background. When you hit the home button, music STOPS! WTF? CarMediaPlay, Pandora, Aupeo, or non supported apps like TuneIn Radio keep the music going in all modes. Is there a trick to force MixTrax to co
  5. Here's a new decent FREE option for weather fans Yahoo Weather App Updated With Animated Weather Radar http://modmyi.com/content/11934-yahoo-weather-app-updated-animated-weather-radar.html
  6. Maybe I'll add a ChromeCast too since they are only $35 http://www.appradioworld.com/2013/08/question-would-google-chromecast-work.html
  7. Yup, I got the 210 for the same reason. (backup source, especially if a friend barrows my car etc) It just arrived actually but I'm waiting for a few other cables first before I install it. I might try adding a Chromecast or AppleTV at some point for kicks. I doubt I really need it though after adding AppRadio Extension package via jailbreak. http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/37240-multiple-hdmi-inputs-via-auto-switch-dashcam-dvr-iphone-5/ This self powered HDMI auto-switch works well. (it's tiny and only $7 too) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0018DQYQ2/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_JvTd
  8. I just got my eBay black cable today. http://r.ebay.com/RxGcbX I hooked up my HDMI adapter to my TV and iPhone plus added extension at home. IT DOSEN'T WORK! I repeat it DOES NOT WORK. When I remove the extension HDMI works great, so it for sure isn't' working. I extended the regular lightning cable to my laptop, and iTunes syncs fine. (and charges the phone) It's strange that the extension doesn't allow HDMI to work when data works. I wonder what's missing/special? It sucks that the same eBay seller sells both white and black cables with the same price and descri
  9. Your link shows amazon but directs to another thread so not sure what you're asking. There is a whole topic on the bypass here: http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/34594-app-radioapp-radio-2-bypass-confirmed/?p=270191
  10. I was messing around with the jailbreak app called "Flex" I just discovered it after seeing the post about the Youtube 2.0 update. Someone commented at the bottom they updated their youtube flex patch to remove ads etc. So I discovered Flex has 100's of patches you can apply to your regular iOS App Store apps. http://www.reddit.com/r/flextweak I took a look at AppRadio, and saw there is one called "Enable Backgrounding Test" Maybe it would help out making AppRadio always ready to go? (assuming it doesn't kill battery life) Anyone know anything about it or tried it? Sounds
  11. The iOS YouTube app was just updated to version 2.0 today. Can someone see if it works well via AppRadio Extension? http://modmyi.com/content/11918-youtube-2-0-launched-ios.html Also just saw: http://modmyi.com/content/11916-google-announces-google-maps-users-can-now-take-advantage-waze-incident-reports.html Google Announces That Google Maps Users Can Now Take Advantage of Waze Incident Reports
  12. Streaming is the way to go. Check out http://airplayit.com (best free option) it also lets you save / download your own stuff for offline use! If you want to pay for more bells and whistles check out Plex http://www.plexapp.com/ (audio, video, and pictures) or http://zqueue.com/streamtome/index.html VPN might work if you're willing to go through all the extra steps. The above are super simple to setup and access on demand. You could even use DropBox etc
  13. A 3rd update on AppRadioWorld http://www.appradioworld.com/2013/08/confirmed-cheap-ebay-lightning.html Two more people said the black eBay cable failed to work for them. (charges only, no HDMI video/audio) VBLUE42, you're a lucky guy it seems! Everyone ordered the black and yours is white though. (same seller, different colors) It seems the white one has a better chance of working than the black.
  14. Thanks for the confirmation videos VBLUE42 As I said on the AppRadioWorld page. I have to agree about quality control with cables coming from China. If it doesn't work, we received a lemon cable. (doesn't mean they all don't work) They use minimal copper, and little support at connector. AppRadioWorld admin probably received a bad one. One http://dx.com example of a bad regular $1.70 lightning cable I received is it would only charge plugged in one directly. The other 5 I bought worked fine though (I could flip them 180 no problem) We get what we pay for. This should hold
  15. I'm curious what iOS 7 will bring to 2014 Stereo's. This short audio clip let's you hear they are pushing ahead. http://bloom.bg/1c8MWQA#ooid=p0MWxxZDo6fK7Y9RvG2nkRQXnAJTfZD2 While it's probably going to be pretty sweet, at the same time I'm nervous that things will be too locked down. (meaning we can't (or hardly) do anything while the car is in motion for our "safety") I bet they will require things to be made nearly impossible to use the parking break over-ride methods too. (requiring GPS/motion chip detection etc) There would be enough demand for stereos even if the elite power users comp
  16. You should probably start a new thread for that complex non extension related question. If you want to use the AppRadio for both you and your Wife at the same time, you should probably get some kind of HDMI splitter. This one works great, and is self powered (and is automatic, it changes to last sorce detected) http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-3-In-1-Out-Switch-Cable/dp/B0018DQYQ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377001013&sr=8-1&keywords=HDMI+splitter I wonder if you can find a USB switch that will auto sense the last input used as well. (or maybe a simple manual switched one) Ther
  17. AppRadioWorld put out a new article today on the search for a lightening extension cable. Here's The Latest About The Pursuit For A Lightning Cable Extensionhttp://www.appradioworld.com/2013/08/heres-latest-about-pursuit-for.html
  18. You'll want to by an HDMI splitter so you can output to the AppRadio and your Second tv at the same time. eBay search for: HDMI 1x2 splitter (20-30 bucks) The models from acepurchase have a wide following online forums and are know to even strip HDCP. (not that it's an issue on mobile devices) http://stores.ebay.com/acepurchase/ I use his 1x4 model at home for my HTPC. (1 output to my main tv, 1 output to my computer monitor, 1 output to my slingbox) You'll want the lightening extension cable of course so you can hide the HDMI adapter next to the switch. http://www.appradioworld
  19. If you get the DVD model of AR3 you can at least burn a ton of MP3's if that's all you want quick access to when you're phone isn't handy etc. I've seen people hookup an AppleTV to their AppRadio on one of the youtube videos I ran across the other day too.
  20. Parrot asteroid smart looks interesting especially if you're an android guy. I'm all about iPhone though and using Exentions to get the virtual iPad thing going on (complete multi touch iOS integration of my iPhone 5) http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/34188-appradio-extensions-20-beta-full-iphone-control/ You can't do much unless you have a smart phone hooked up. The whole idea of AppRadio is it's an extension of your Smart Phone. (not a stand alone device) - The ability to play mp3's (that I hope to be able to transfer and store on the Appradio unit). You'll
  21. Woke up today to another safe mode, crash reporter says Primary suspect = _iPhoneRotator.dylib I went ahead and contacted the Elias (the SBRotator Dev) with the logs. I hope he's still active. A lot of these dev's get bored and stop innovating or get too busy with their real job etc. I can only hope he's ready to improve the app so our AppRadio will be a complete experience. If any experts come across this, feel free to take a look at the attached logs here as well. Ok, so now I wait for my new AppRadio 3 so I can join in on the fun! (Amazon says shipping soon) SpringBoard
  22. RadarScope is $9.99 ?!?!?! I was ready to toy around with it for 99 cents but not for 10 bucks. I live in San Francisco so it hardly rains, and don't need to worry about tornados etc. I still wanted to see the fun live Radar image on my AppRadio. I'd probably get it if weather was an emergency. (Mid West) The knock off free version app called MyRadar seems to be good enough for my occasional usage. (for now) SlingBox (Live TV & DVR playback streaming) will look pretty good on the AppRadio. I'll post a video of my favorite apps once my new AR3 is installed next week'
  23. Bummer SBRotator hasn't come out with an update since March. (nearly half a year ago) 6.4-5 I hope the dev is still looking to improve things at some point. I'll do my best to see if I can make it through 24 hours. (I removed several packages I don't "need" as a test) I'll reach out and send him my logs if not and uninstall it for now then. (oh well)
  24. Thanks, I ran a simulation test using the HDMI 3-In 1-Out HDMI Auto Switch I linked to above. I connected my Lightening HDMI converter to switch input #1 I connected my HTPC HDMI to switch input #2 I connected the HDMI switch output to my TV (simulating the AppRadio) The switch worked perfectly! (automatically switches to the last "active" source) iPhone looked great especially with SBRotator landscape. My phone should be the last thing I plug in. Even if it's not, all I'd need to do is unplug/re-plug in the lightening cable and I'm on source #1 immediately. This m
  25. Thanks, I finally learned how Pioneer came up with that BT work around to make things work via Lightening. (one of the YouTube videos I watched explained it) Well it looks like the cable VBLUE42 recommended should do the trick. The OP on AppRadioWorld just ordered one and posted: http://www.appradioworld.com/2013/08/wanted-digital-av-adapter-cable.html ___________________________________ AppRadioWorldAugust 17, 2013 at 8:18 PM I ordered one on eBay couple of days ago. Should get it on Monday. I had bought one before but if didn't work. Could be I got a defective one back then.
