  1. I would say that he should have known if he has been installing stereos for 10+ years. Plus, if they carry the entire line up for avics, he has to know what those wires do. I think he didn't want to run the wires to the rear and front.
  2. Believe this is what you are looking for. It needs to be bypassed: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14

Went out to pioneers website and found it for you.
  5. Exactly what he said, pull it out and do the bypass yourself. They probably didn't move the mute wire and ground it along with the parking brake. They probably just grounded the parking brake and the unit has finished calibrating.
  6. Nope, that's how it is supposed to look. No worries.
  7. Actually, the onstar and the mute wire have nothing to do with each other. I have onstar on my trailblazer and i moved the mute wire and my radio still mutes whenever i get or make calls.
  8. yeah basically, but some dark tint works miracles
  9. once you get to your destination, you must go into the settings and cancel the route.
  10. Glad to hear the good news. Any pics?
  11. I'm about 95% sure that your interface has a short. Mine did it also in my trailblazer.
  12. i used a wire nut to connect mine but you can use whatever you like (electrical tape, butt connectors, etc...). The radio's ground is already grounded so just ground the mute and the parking brake wires into it.
  13. The wire that you move is one harness on the D3, not your harness that you bought. When you move the mute wire, there is only 1 open slot to insert it on the D3, stick it in there and make sure that it clicks in. Once done, ground the mute, parking brake, and the radio ground all together.
  14. is the vehicle moving when you are trying to do it? Is the parking brake wire grounded? if so, is it a good ground?
  15. The bose adapter has 2 volume settings. one is for Onstar and the other is for the chime volume.
  16. where you not getting sound from the radio/cd/ipod/xm?
  17. did you adjust any of your audio settings? Set the loudness to mid, SLA to 4, and EQ to whatever you like, mine is set to powerful.
  18. sounds to me like it is the canbus also. my gmos-04( the first one) did that same exact thing, changed the interface and it works fine now. you may have just goten 2 faulty canbus' in a row.
  19. Just be sure to make your connections secure. Best of luck and let me know how it works.
  20. you can use wire nuts, snap connectors, solder and tape, doesn't matter as long as it's grounded.
  21. No i mean the head light switch has to come out of the dash during the install. If you are going to have it installed by someone else, then let them deal with the headache of taking the dash out. The parking brake is pretty easy to do, if they hook it up, you can cut the excess wiring off and ground it as normal. The excess wiring can be taken out and thrown away
  22. The install for the D# in the rainier should not be much different from the install of my trailblazer since they are basically the same truck and made by GMC. Are you planning on keeping your door chimes and onstar. If so then your going to need the gmos-04. Also, the dash is pretty easy, i believe it is held in with approx 6 screws. You have to take the light switch out and the rear window wiper switch out, if like the trailblazer, before the dash can be completely removed. Once done, there are 3 screws holding in the OEM deck. Take them out and stick the D3 in
