My question was regarding doing the 2 wire bypass and having the system work, however, IF you take the time to read the Sticky, it clearly reads :: FOR ALL UNITS MADE SINCE 2006 OR ANY UNIT UPDATED WITH THE BLUETOOTH UPDATE CD" Somehow, I believe myZ2 would fall into that catagory... so all I have to do is the 2 wire bypass, then CHECK and RECHECK wires to be sure they are in the harness CORRECTLY, TIGHTLY, and GROUNDED.
