jtbmoore
It is not getting better. Maybe I forgot to hook up the VSS wire. What does that connect to?
bird_dog0347
The wire depends on the car. What type of car do you have? The VSS wire is the Vehicle Speed Sensor wire. It connects to the wire going into your dash where the spedo gets the signal it uses to display your speed.

shoman94
Have you tried doing a reset on the calibration and maybe on the unit....?? I ran with my VSS unhooked for a while and had no issues
sl0wsierra
You connect it to your vehicle's speed sensor wire. To check if it's hooked up, go to the 3D calibration screen in the nav settings menu and if you drive the car, the number next to speed signal will go up with your speed. Or another method, go to the nav map, hit the map button again, and select vehicle dynamics. A screen with some dials will pop up, the center one being a speedometer. It will show your speed if the VSS wire is hooked up. If the wire isn't hooked up, it will not register your speed and stay at zero. You might want to try both methods, as I can't quite remember if the speedometer gauge also uses the GPS signal to get the speed reading. The speedometer on the map works off of the GPS because I don't have my VSS wire hooked up and the speedo does work. I don't have any issues with which way my arrow points though. 69Mach1-409
I do not have the VSS hooked up and have no issues with the arrow, nor the Pioneer gauges working. As was said, try resetting.
jtbmoore
I reset the unit with the pin hole reset next to the eject button and that fixed it.
