Does anyone know what type of CPU the F series uses? If it is ARM or x86 I plan on pulling it apart. Reverse engineering is a hobby of mine and this sort of thing will be easy to find (the proper code) Mine gets in tommorow so hopefully I can start breaking it soon.

ARM.

Why wait for it to get to your door? You could check out this thread to find the FTP site jbhardling set up with backup images, etc. av.exe, systemsetting.exe, mainmenu.exe and shell.exe in the flash disk's APL folder are probably useful to look at for the Pioneer system calls and how they use their DLLs.

  • 3 weeks later...

The code is: up up down menu left right - i did not find this, someone else did on these forums but it applied to the F90BT model.

It works on the BT700-Series 2.0 Firmware upgrade [Confirmed]

It lists menu options and has a tools option as well. My unit after about 10-15seconds from entering the code to my option selection goes all black including the buttons. This is as far as i have gotten and am wondering if anyone else can go further including keeping the screen from dimming?

Nothing is described in the manual of the mentiod service menu in this topic.

HOWEVER!

The manual mentions two service methods we (as far as I can see) did not know about;

1. uBOOT

2. Test CD.

with uBOOT onoe is able to test AND set BT, GPS and update the windows version (!)

Also it states "5. other tools"

The manual doesn't specify what is in option 5.

When I read on, I come across the test CD thing.

It here states a 'good' result and a 'Not Good' result.

The example used here for not good, is a model UC tried to be implemented as EW.

Also when I look at the lay outs of the PCBs, every PCB is addressed as both EW5 and UC models. Making UC and EW models identical ???

now.. where can we get hold of this uBOOT thing?

Does it then display this screen?

edit:

Just found the link to the service manual already mirrored somwhere here (hehehe... waste of money, but OK)

Nothing special in the uboot either?
