whtcrxghst
The ad says it includes new printed circuit board. I guess if you are fairly skilled with electronics you could attempt to do it and I am sure the part numbers you would need are in the service manual [quote name="MFR"]Anyone know how to upgrade the hardware to get full function of XM and Ipod as described by someone selling his services on ebay. check out his ebay ad. MFR
So to do this we would need a schmatic of the N3 and N2 Hide a-way unit. compair them and make the mods. I am not that experianced at this but i can follow someone elses guide if they figure this out.

He means that you'll get the upgraded interface for those too.

Basically, it's a new microcontroller chip. The chip is around $50 (p/n in the other post), but is 77-pins and would require precision soldering skills to install (a hot air gun can remove the old one easily though). If he's not replacing the chip and swapping out the whole mainboard, then he must get some massive discount on them. I don't have the p/n for the mainboard (it's not listed seperately), but I imagine it costs more than $300.

free_refil
Ya, the guy who does these on eBay lives in my town. I just recently took my unit to his shop to do the N3 upgrade and fix my screen issues. He seems pretty knowledgeable, so you could call his shop and talk to him about the process. He said he's done over 900 of them!
