ryanr12076
Whenever im on a call, seems that he head unit is completely useless. I am only able to use the box that appears to be where i can hang up the phone and adjust the volume. I wont that to either be translucent or gone all together.. Anyone know of a work around? I search for something like this and cant find anything.
ryanr12076
16 views and no one feels the same way? Theres gotta be way to disable the phone from shutting down functionality of the unit...
cpojim
So let me get this straight. You want to talk on the phone, look for your favorite song on your iPod, AND drive the car?
ryanr12076
No ..... I want to see how many miles i have left when i have a trip planned on the gps. It gets covered when on the phone.
hondarider
I agree the in-call phone screen makes to rest of the unit useless. I have found out that if you enter the vehicle while on the phone when the unit connects to your bluetooth phone and transfers to your stereo you will not have the box but be connected the same way (atleast always works for me). The unit works exactly like it does without a phone call and you even still have the ability to end the call by clicking in the knob.
ryanr12076
I've seen that too. So I'm wondering if there is a way to somehow stop that box from coming up. I'm no programmer by any means.
hondarider
ya me either but i would love a hack that gets rid of the box and maybe adds a small line in a corner that shows your connected and the contacts name. Maybe it could just replace the song name in the map screen.

ryanr12076
Is that somehow a shot at us for not searching?! I said that I tried searching but couldnt find anyone talking about this specifically. If you know the URL please post it and this thread can stop... Reading bottom part of last users post...... CatchMeIfYouCan631
That's on my signature. That goes with every post I make. Relax, it has nothing to do with you.
ryanr12076
haha ok just checking.... I've actually seen that on posts before, so wasnt too sure.. np.. This Boris your talking about would he possibly know someone that could look into this? or maybe himself? Â Sorry if I came across like an a**hole wasnt my intention.. CatchMeIfYouCan631
No harm done. Boris is one of the biggest hackers on the forum, he could shed a lot of light of this concept idea.
Kirby692
I'd like to see this sort of hack too. Makes having a nice GPS nav unit kinda pointless when on a long trip and also talking on the phone. I've gone so far that I just use my wireless headset now so that I can retain control of the AVIC. dashtwo
I think this is funny because i can not get my unit to show the phone control box. It has not worked right from day 1. I would really like to have the volume buttons and the end call button, but they never show up. i posted about it a while back but i think it is just the phone, haven't tried another phone yet
ryanr12076
Well you can try using the "knob" to answer and end the call. See if that works.
