Nevadadrifter
I read somewhere that it is better to get the f900bt if you want to use the stock shaker system because the 4V pre out of the f90bt is too high for the stock amps. Is that true? I don't have a definative answer for that, but I was told the same thing by a rep at Crutchfield about the stock amp in my Jeep. That's why I opted for the F900BT over the F90BT. oh6vee6
This is absolutely not true. Mine work fine. They hit alot harder than with the Shaker installed but that's a good thing. I did lower the gain on the sub out to a 0 or a -1, but they sound much better now. This shouldn't even affect a seperate sub amp because you could always just turn the gains up a little bit to compensate for the lower setting on the head unit. Nerds 2 You
I just replaced the FH-P800BT in my 2006 Mustang GT, (factory was Shaker 500) with a Z110BT and they both sound great, no issues with the factory amp. I used a Metra harness (don't remember which one) and installed the 5V regulator to get rid of the "POP" sound, I just need to hook up the VSS wire now as soon as I check stangnet to figure out where that wire is.... 1loudls
allow me to save you the trip VSS - dark blue w/ yellow stripe @ PCM, top plug, pin 3 the PCM is in the front passenger side of the engine compartment and that is bullsh!t about 4v preouts being too strong, the stronger the preouts, the stronger the signal, the clearer the sound
Nerds 2 You
Thanks! Any suggestions for the dimmer wire? I agree 4V pre-outs = good sound!
1loudls
all i can find is the negitive parking lights wire which is black/green at the switch, since it is a negitive wire(and the pioneeer need positive)you would have to use a relay to switch the polarity to positive most of fords new car use negitive trigger so you cant even run a wire to the headlights or parking lights themselfs. you might be able to find a positive signal at a light on the dash maybe the ash tray (i dont know if there is a light in your ash tray but that where i had to run the wire to in my lincoln)

Ashtray in a Mustang is optional and just fits in one of the cupholders, I have one for my 99 Mustang.
1loudls
yea that little black rectangle thing, mine had one too until i left it setting at the coin machine in a car wash. LOL and the ever so creative $35 optional"smokers package" AKA cup holder ash tray and a cig lighter for the power port. i thought they where only putting those things in the little cars like escorts. have you checked out Stangnet yet? i'm interested in seeing if there is an easier solution then the relay.
