Shane H
That sounds like an awsome idea. Also I have been thinking of a way for built in radar. Annnd how about if cop cars could show up on the gps? Don't most police cars have a gps gig in them these days? If your going with the ODB2 option wouldn't more ram need to be installed on the unit? A friend of mine added more ram to an older xbox. Are these bad iseas?

Its all an entirely diffrent coding format. most people wouldnt even know what to do with an .XBE.. Also, adding RAM to an Xbox is tough. Soldering FINE prints that a machine noramlly does.. well hope ya got a steady hand. So, noone responded upon my idea of Autoenginuity well, mabey someone will read this now.. POCKET PC BASED. http://www.autoenginuity.com/products-scantoolppc.html Im gonna be tinkering with this soon enough. I just need to figure out a way to get a cable that will work for me. "Requirements Windows Pocket PC 2002/2003 operating system (V4.2 Only) Windows Mobile 2003SE/2005 operating systems (V4.4+) Windows Mobile 5/6 64 MB of free ROM space The required serial sync cable is NOT provided. Please contact your Pocket PC vendor for the correct serial sync cable. HP 19xx series do not support a full serial interface as required, and will not work." I think you'd still have your work cutout for you. windows 2002/2005/5/6 Isn't the same ase plain CE. Also then u'd have to make a usb-serial adapter work. I like the idea though! Sweet - actually the 2nd screen can go above it in the JDM nav pod... this option was a factory option in japan and was used for OEM nav back in the day. but now it can be used for other things http://scienceofspeed.com/products/engi ... 5B1%5D.jpg
implicit
I didn't want to post until I'd made some progress but I thought I'd let you know I'm giving this a shot. I've written source code for windows mobile that'll read the data from a blue tooth OBD scan tool. The code will be very easy to port to CE 5 but I'm going to need some sort of bluetooth manager first so I can establish a connection between the AVIC and my OBD tool. I'm going to spend some time this afternoon looking around - I'll post more if I get anywhere.

EEGeek
Hey all, I actually write tuning software and I got me a F500 not too long ago. My first thought was if I could write an app to run on it and pull CAN data and send tune data to our car tuning hardware. Below are a couple links to videos I created a few months back (have improved since then) of the software running on the F500. The first is a video I created for my bro so he could see how it works, he'll be cleaning up the gui. The second video some of you may recognize. At the time I created that video, I hadn't been able to update the CAN data on the actual GUI you see. I can now. http://www.mediafire.com/?3ndjnzumvfm http://www.mediafire.com/?nj15jiny0wq I love these units.

Does this software need usb OBD cable right? then it need one usb port on the unit, so i can't using ipod to be music player when using OBD?
FallenOne
A better question would be, does this particular method require a USB>OBD-II Interface or just a USB>OBD Cable? USB to OBD cable 5$ USB to OBD Interface 30 $.
