Guest MrBrent
I don't know for a fact but I have been told that the amp for the Shaker 500 is behind the kick panel on the drivers side.
Herknav
All the sources I have heard and read, (Crutchfield, several forums, WOM), say the F-150 kit is dabomb and fits totally clean.
BMWJ17
Well, I have finally gotten the Z1 installed in the 06GT and what a great stereo it is and alot more. Thank you all fo the input along the way.
05Stang-GT
Just ordered the regulator from Steve....I'm too lazy to build one...traded the Crown Vic in on a 05 Mustang GT with the shaker 500 ....have the wiring harness/F150 Kit on order from Crutchfield so should have it installed soon! Thankfully I think I can use the Z1-Ford adaptor I already had for the Vic and just have to make up the amp connection one.
BigFloppy
Good luck with the Stang, I know you'll enjoy it
05Stang-GT
Thanks! BTW, does the F150 kit have everything you need to install it? I had to improvise with the Vic...there was nothing but the wiring harness available.
BigFloppy
I think the F150 kit has everything you need.. it should come with 2 connectors. a wide one that powers front/rear speakers and a small one that powers the subs
05Stang-GT
I was actually talking about the facia kit, not the wiring kit, should have made that a bit more clear....
BigFloppy
No worries with the Fascia kit as you can see from the picture I posted of my Z1 (even though I've only got a lowly 2005 V6) :D
05Stang-GT
Does the Z1 bolt/screw into the facia somehow? The kit and the car are both waiting for me back home but Im on the otherside of the freakin country now and its killin me lol....will be back tomorrow.
aznsmartass24
could you shrink your signature picture? It takes up the entire screen!
BigFloppy
The fascia kit bolts to the side of the Avic, then the plastic surround bolts to the main console in the car Easy, no brainer
05Stang-GT
could you shrink your signature picture? It takes up the entire screen!
You must have a small screen :P I'll work on it. By the way...where did people find the VSS wire in an 05 mustang gt w/shaker 500? It had speed sensative volume, so it has to be at the radio harness, but its not on the pin it was on in the 03 C.V......
aznsmartass24
Pm cntv79. He is an installer so he should know.
05Stang-GT
Called Crutchfield....apparently Ford no longer uses a pulsed voltage for the speed sensative volume and now use a digital signal...had to tap the VSS at the ECU....all done now except for the Reverse Sense lead, but in no hurry to do that since I don't have the backup camera.
