XP actually has an extractor. I always unzip DLed folders just in case.

When you had the iso file, you used that to burn the disk, you didn't burn a disk with that file on it did you? When you stick that disk into the computer do you see 100's of files? Or is it just the single ISO file?

And when I said to extract the files.... I did not mean the zip file you downloaded, once you unzip the file, take the iso and extract the files in that into a directory and then burn those files with nero or whatever, sometimes that method works better for people.

Well then. I was confused. I was talking about just the single ISO file. I burned that to a disc. So that must be why it isn't working. So I will have to extract all the files from that 1 ISO file then.

No actually you can open a burning program and tell it to burn image and then select that image. And it will create a cd with a ton of files on it with all the correct settings from that iso file.

Or you can extract the iso further into it's separate files and burn all those.

If your disk has one file and it's *.iso, then that's your problem. Read this post:

Downloaded from Rapidshare and 411.Com and the AVIC-1Z does NOT recoginze the disk. Is there a workaround?

James

No work around needed. Generally they work when burned correctly. What did you do?

When you stick the CD into the PC what does it look like? What's the directory and file structure when you look at it on a PC? Does it look like this?

If a PC can't see it the Z1 can't either.

Make sure you are burning the ISO not a dvd data disk with the ISO as a file on it.

Will the Bluetooth download fix also work on the European model? It's called the AVIC-HD1BT here. I'm afraid if I flash the unit I can't access the European maps anymore

Also, if, for whatever reason, I want to go back to it's original state, before the update, is this possible?

Thanks!

I would bet against it, but I don't know anyone who has tried it.

Only by unlocking the hard drive and making an image of the drive while hooked to the PC. Check the stickys about hdd in the hacks/mods section.
