medmondson
So far I'm quite pleased with my newly installed app radio. Now the big question is, "how and where to mount the phone?". Proclips looked great (though pricey) and in my vehicle (2007 Silverado) gives me a few different locations to mount. Where has everyone mounted their phones?
ov3n
I have a ProClip in my Mustang.
medmondson
That's the dock and location I was most leaning towards. I was worried it might be a bit too far away. Is that not a problem for you?
bit_bucket
That looks great btw. I am going with a similar setup in my VW. I have had something like this in the past and it has worked just fine.
kcmedic
I'm using the proclip mounted in the same location. Love it. The placement works well as it's right next to the radio and your eyes don't have to move around as much. Doesn't seem too far away. It's the only mount that I could find that has true cable pass through and now hooking up the phone only takes one hand.
medmondson
So in my research I've come across the panavise mount (works in conjuction with the proclip docks) that allows a little more flexibility in placement (specifically in my case, it will allow for center console mount, directly below the radio). Anyone familiar with this brand?
jayrom
I just ordered my ProClip for my EOS VW... Love it I have been searching forums and google and I came to the conclusion that it was the only solution without putting a sucker on my windshield or digging holes in the dashboard. I have chosen the "Padded Holder with Tilt Swivel and Pass-Through Connector for Cable Attachment" so that I don't have to touch the cable when installing the iPhone. 2 minute installation ! ov3n
Very nice eh!
airschatz
I just took my dock and double sided tape, found a nice place to stick it and plugged the cable in. No need to grab the cable to disconnect. Works like a charm.
Kurto2021
I tried and tried to find a better (cheaper) solution then the proclip options. No way around it they are the best. The thought of spending over $100 for a mount is pathetic when you think about it but the universal stuff is just garbage.
