shatty
Not sure if people has more issues with the nagging screen showing up (emergency brake wired incorrectly) mine showed 1 time only. While I was adding a relay/capacitor to my HU to avoid restarting my HU when I start my car, I took a picture what i did with the wire, I grounded this wire and the parking brake together, make sure you ground it on a bare metal of the car... Hope this help... http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l612/ntm1028/7_zps5463807a.jpg http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l612/ntm1028/4-1_zps608904b9.jpg relay/cap switch http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l612/ntm1028/6-1_zps9b9ba0af.jpg http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l612/ntm1028/5_zpsacef2840.jpg Or just connect it to the black wire which is ground. They all go to the same place....
ntm
Or just connect it to the black wire which is ground. They all go to the same place.... For some reason not all cars ground their black wire directly... they go by ignition too... learned it the hard way Maybe that causes the nag screen(?) but definitely you can test it out with a tester... VBLUE42
Thats not causing the nag screen. Improper bypass causes the nag screen.
RustyAVIC
I am planning to get an AVIC Z150 for my Toyota Tacoma and want to have the NAV/DVD bypass. Following the text posts, I think I followed the procedure but would appreciate someone here commenting on photo. Also, any advice for finding the backup and speed sensor wires in a 2013 Toyota Tacoma would be appreciated (Thanks!)
VBLUE42
What is your question?
RustyAVIC
My question is: Am I following the bypass procedure correctly? [and trying to help out others in this forum]. This is a discussion forum or no?
VBLUE42
The install manual says nothing about the bypass. What you are looking at in the install is pertaining to the proper install per Pioneer.
RustyAVIC
Did you look at the figure with the post?
VBLUE42
As far as anyone knows that is the bypass but there are apparently problems with it.
rmarcelle05
The bypass works ( moving the mute wire over one slot to the left...and grounding it) do not ground the parking brake wire, as it will display an error message saying problem with parking brake connection. I've been driving for a week with no issues or problems with any sources
graffix31
this is good news. my radio is due in tomorrow. I wont be installing it right away, need to find some time but happy this seems to be worked out. can anyone else confirm that not grounding the parking wire and just moving the mute wire works with no errors? VBLUE42
If that is the case it would be a first from Pioneer so I wouldn't count on it being the proper bypass.
graffix31
i am surprised that this thread is so slow right now with the radio now available for a few weeks. Has there been any movement on this? has the bypass method been confirmed somewhere else? just curious. i will be using a pac adapter and it has a brake switch wire. the only person saying anything lately says you dont need to ground it but only move the mute wire. just curious. thanks everyone
VBLUE42
I can almost assure you grounding only the mute wire will fail.
graffix31
it appears in the other bypass thread that more and more people are finding that you dont need to ground the parking break and only move the pin or wire for mute to the other slot. so maybe these new models are different.
