NickyCarts
im going to montreal within the next couple weeks and was wondering if this thing is reliable up there because according to the pioneer site it says that it can be used in large metropolitan areas of canada (im sure montreal is one of them). let me know. thanks -nick
pascal
I use the avic-s1 in Montreal. If the maps are somewhat the same, you should have no problems at all.

VEEDUB T
I live in a suburb of Ottawa (1 1/2hours west of MTL) and works perfect so far!
delguini
Hey dude, i live in Montreal. The thing works very well inside the city and the suburbs. Once you get out about 30-45mins outside into the country, it wont use voice guidance anymore for some reason. It WILL show you the map and where to turn and such, but i have no idea why it no longer tells you vocally to turn left or right blah blah blah... and also it doesn't use a green line to your destination, it uses a purple line, i guess it's because there's no voice guidance... louiea
So if you are heading to Canada you can use the maps that came with the unit?
GnatGoSplat
Yes. I used my D1 updated to D2 w/CNDV-60MP 2-years ago when I visited Winnipeg, MB. It was pretty cool being able to visit a different country thousands of miles away, yet being able to get around with ease as if I've lived there for years.
