installermarc
why don't you try typing in regular ENGLISH, not so dumbed down version. we are mostly adults here, and at least some here have graduated high school. so please do not insult us by typing as you are. and no, i do not know how to reset a password without shipping the unit to pioneer. Aconite
We can password protect our Avics?
hottwhyrd
cumon fellas we dont need the hostility. Â as far a password protection its more of a liability than a help. i cant tell yall how many kenwoods ive had to reset using the super sectret method! i dont know of one for pioneers tho! Aconite
I am still interested in the security lockout feature, not a secret code to unlock it, but how to set my own password. I really don't drive all that much during the summer (electric bicycle) and would like to password protect my unit during the season.
gr33ko
If you're just installing it, and it IS his then there shouldn't be a lock on it. Plus if it is his then he should know or be able to ask his mother what her maiden name is. I'm sorry dude but definately sounds like you stole it, and even if we did know how to reset it your post sounds way too fishy for help! I just got my shit jacked and I dont feel like possibly helping another thief. Tell your friend to grow some balls and find out who he stole it from and give it back. gr33ko
As for the guys who want to know how to set it. Go to page 129 of your manual. If you dont have your manual register with pioneer, click on the avic d3 model, go to documents, and click on owners manual. When the PDF loads go to page 131.

Aconite
Thanks gr33ko ... I looked through my manual, no luck. I have the D1 and it may not have that feature.
whtcrxghst
The D3 is the first Pioneer to have that feature. No luck for D1/2 owners

HiFiSi
If there was a way to bypass the security password, what would be the point of having a security password in the first place? It's your fault you can't remember the password... you should have made the password something your could remember or at least written it down somewhere. You have to send it to pioneer. That's just how it is. Anyway... who the hell can't remember their mother's maiden name? IMO, you deserve to have to send it out to be fixed.
