D3 Vehicle Dynamics and Map Accuracy?

Recommended Posts

I've got my VSS hooked up. And the D3 works great. Only thing that bugs me is that the speed shown on the Vehicle Dynamics is 2 or 3 miles slower than what my car's speedo reads... Is there any way to correct this?

Also, the map is not as accurate as I'd like it to be. When I fully cross an intersection. The Arrow on the map shows that I'm just entering it.

Anyone else's system is like this? Thanks!

The older vehicle models speedometer isn't certified calibrated per se, even a certified calibrated speedometer has a +/- error of 2. The new model vehicles are pretty close.

Hence, if you get tagged for speeding by some over zealous ticket writer for going a couple over, you have a good argument to win in court.

Those are used by the nav unit when calculating how much time is left until you reach your destination. Based on the roads the route is using and the average speed for those types of roads you've set in the average speed settings, it can calculate how much time is left. Or should be left, if you always drive at the speeds you set the averages at.
