rwerth7
I'm getting ready to install the Pioneer Z2 and I would appreciate any advise as to where to install the microphone. I'm looking for it to be effective without the echo that has been discussed in some of the threads , yet as unobtrusive as possible. My car is an FJ Cruiser Thanks in advance for any suggesttions. whtcrxghst
Either above the rearview mirror or at the top of the A-pillar
mchristsen
Top of Driver's A pillar. Works great.

davemonkee
we've flush mounted one in a factory mic location and it sucked!! just in case you still wanted to drill a hole. i had mine in the a-pillar and recently moved it above the rearview mirror, no difference, just looked better behind the mirror
BigFloppy
I tried it by drilling a hole in the upper center console in front of the top up/down switch (mustang convertible) and mounting the mic there... didn't work too well Now have it mouted right in the middle of the instrument cluster, seems to work ok

cntrylvr79
Front and center. Little warm up there eh?
corlando52
I had mine professionally installed and they put it clipped on the top of the rear view mirror. It's far enough away from the speakers so you don't get echo, and also allows passengers to join in conversations when using the phone, or requesting information. The kids get a kick out of telling it to Call Home or map out going to their friend's house. Chris
