  1. Have you ever checked the voltage regulator on your vehicle. Probably built into the alternator. But it sounds like your getting voltage spikes or a hot ground. I can't say I've seen this in any Pioneer product but I have in other electronic devices. (Aircraft avionics) Before I would blame the manufacturer for something as isolated as this problem, I would look beyond the radio and more toward the vehicle and install. I would have done this after radio number two. There are just too many of these units around to say this is a design issue. These pages would be full of complaints of a sim
  2. I guess I don't understand why so many have difficulty with this simple function. As I said above, I installed a USB plug right under the AVIC and have no difficulty playing whatever I want. I find the sticks much more convenient than the little SD card, Bluetooth or IPOD type device. But the SD also has music and a video or two, If you can navigate in any Windows file manager, you can do the same with these radio's. Sure you have to copy the music in some logical fashion to the stick or card, but I haven't seen an IPOD that comes right out of the box having the music I enjoy. And I have yet

    Pioneer suck

I think I read this correct. the guy says the X940BT doesn't have a USB. First line of third post. I have now had this unit for about 9 months and I'm very happy with it. USB has now been mounted in a flush mount device from Amazon which sits very nicely next to the Cigarette lighter. (I'm showing my age) It's no longer in the glove compartment/ I did this for no other reason than having nothing else to do. So I now have USB charging and USB input right next to each other. Although I must say I have yet to change the USB stick which has music on it. I keep the wife happy with about 2000 E
  4. Mine was sporadic. Sometimes the art was there, others not. I think it's how you copy the directory files to the micro card. Looking in my library there is always extra .jpg files. I think if those files are on your memory stick or card they will show up. I never really checked this out, just figured that was the case.

    Pioneer suck

If anybody is still following this, I don't understand? I have a X940BT and it has a USB connection. It's on the end of a cord tucked into the glove compartment but that hasn't been an issue to me. The only thing I use it for is memory sticks and I seldom change it. It has enough music to last me from Florida to Minnesota and back again. It wasn't an option that I know of. It was just there! The last Pioneer Avic I had was the same. Again? What am I missing here? But I will agree, the options on various models is a virtual mine field for the customer. Which model has what? You pretty
  6. Not being sarcastic, just want to know why invest in an IPOD when you have so many other options available. I've crammed every song I own on a DVD, USB memory stick, and a 16 gig Micro and they all worked just fine. Not to mention connecting my RAZR via the Bluetooth and playing whatever is on the phone. So again, why invest in an IPOD? What am I missing here?
  7. This is very frustrating to me also. I now own a X940BT. I previously owned am older model AVIC F900BT that I let go when I sold my truck. That model not only displayed the speed limit on the streets and highways but also your present speed in this format. 60/65 I sure wish Pioneer would do this for all their units. I really miss this. The interstate signage displayed was much better. I also have to say the older model had much better maps. The zoom features were much better, the streets didn't disappear when zooming out etc. The software in general seemed to be much more stable and user f
  8. Hi Folks, Just passing on my experience in updating my X940BT maps. It may help others although I'm not sure this is the best page to do so. I noticed that many have issues with reading the card, or the unit not seeing the card. I bought my update on Ebay. I've done this several times and always had good luck. This time, not so much. I was in a hurry to get the update as I was intending to make a very long summer trip so I asked the seller if it was possible to download the files. Which after numerous emails came to pass. In unpacking the zip file on a brand new 4 gig card, a certain f
  9. Those computers that all manufacturers install record a hell of a lot more info than you realize. They can tell what time of day you broke it. Owners beat the hell out high performance cars and when they break they expect the manufacturer to make everything right. Guess who pays in the end? These failures didn't come from driving back and forth to church with grandma in the back seat. You broke it! Grow up, act like a man and be responsible for your behavior. Or find other web sites to cry on. What the hell does you broken driveshaft have to do with a Pioneer radio? Damn kids!
