I saw somebody posted a message saying you could use an SD card up to 32Gb. However, in the 900BT manual it says:

SD

Compatible physical format - Version 2.00

Max capacity memory - 8Gb

File System - FAT16, FAT32

Decoding format - MP3/WMA/AAC/WAVE/MPEG4

It also says it DOES NOT support SDHC, which is a big downer. I thought non SDHC cards only came in sizes of 2gb maximum.

right, non-SDHC cards only come in sizes of 2gb max. but since that quote you posted mentioned "Max capacity memory - 8Gb", that means SDHC is supported.

Actually, plain SD will go to at least 4GB. Here are 3 Transcend 4GB cards (Newegg.com).

Correct! 8GB or better requires SDHC support.

I apologize. Upon reading http://www.sdcard.org/home/ I see that plain SD supports only up to 2GB and that anything larger is SDHC.

According to http://www.sdcard.org/about/sdhc/, SDHC supports upto 32GB, so I'm puzzled why Pioneer would artificially limit the useable card size? Or, if they are supporting the specification properly, how they can limit it to only 8GB?

The posted US manual has reference to the SDHC logo at the back (copyright info etc). my guess would be typo for 8gb max.

another downer...

looks as though (again) the US model has fm radio RDS stripped from the unit (D3 was the same). The EU manual had details for RDS operation, no mention of it for our manual. :( you'd think something that was already in the unit would be easy enough to leave in.

All of this is so confusing. I'm just trying to understand the different ways to watch mpeg4 movies on the 90BT.

Jason, since you have your hands on one, have you had a chance to try movies via the SD slot or a USB hard drive?

Posted Jun 05, 2008 · 15:39 UTC#156

Looks like I was mistaken. I was reading the Euro manual. SDHC is supported in the US version. Sweet!! Even if only 8gb is true that is still way better than only 2 gb.

is the wired remote feature on the back of this unit used for a steering wheel adapter such as a soundgate one from.

I want to know what to buy for my steering wheel controls.

You should ask your question one more time, then it will definitely get answered.

And yes, that's exactly what it's for, although most people here will use PAC's interface.

Posted Jun 05, 2008 · 21:45 UTC#165

Is Pac's better than all the others?

Posted Jun 06, 2008 · 01:39 UTC#166

Most others are the PAc, just repackaged. Soundgate is different though, and not too common.

I would just go for the PAC, and be sure it is the one for Pioneer/Sony decks.

Is this the first nav unit with the Premier brand name? Also, I think it is the only pioneer nav unit with 4v pre-outs (instead of 2v), finally. Is this true or have I missed something?

HI....

MY NEXT CONCERN IS....ABOUT USB MEMORY....

AVIC-F SERIES MANUAL SAYS USB MAX. CAPACITY IS '2GB'.....MAN...THAT'S SOOO LOW...

BUT, HOWEVER, THE USB ADAPTOR THAT PIONEER PROVIDES FOR OLDER SERIES (cd-ub100)

( http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... B100?tab=D ) SUPPORTS '250GB'......

ANY WORDS ON THIS GUYS???????

I ALREADY HAVE A 16GB USB DRIVE.....THIS IS A BUMMER....

Posted Jun 06, 2008 · 19:38 UTC#169

THE USB LIMIT IS STILL 250 GB. YOU ARE CONFUSING THE LIMITS FOR USB AND THE SD CARD SLOT ON THE FRONT

Refering to Page 188 on F900BT US Manual....it says:

USB - 2GB

SD - 8GB

I really hope USB is not 2Gb.....Then there's no use in having the USB on the unit.

Posted Jun 06, 2008 · 20:06 UTC#172

Both US and Europe User Manual says:

USB - 2GB

SD - 8GB

I'm thinking it'll be useless for them to have USB if it doesn't support more than 2Gb.

Just because the OM prints a spec, doesn't mean it won't work. Thats just what they have tested and can "officially" guarantee. Try it, before you give up on it. BUT, try it BEFORE you buy it haha.

Hi, There was a guy in one of the other threads that suggested trying to work a deal with some shop that might provide a special price for a "group buy" of this product. It sounds like a bunch of you guys are going to buy this f90bt as soon as it hits. I'm one of you. I'd like a good price on this thing. Is there anyone out there that might be able to work a deal with someone? This might be one of the very few times that, as regular consumers, we might have a little buying power. Even if it's only a hundred units in the first week, that sure would be a great sale for some small shop?

Even Pioneer's cheapo AVHP4000DVD works with a 250GB hard drive. I am sure the BRAND NEW owners manuals of models that have come out in the last few days just have typos
