Man, that is ridiculous! I'm guessing if I don't have the update by now that I'll have to wait till at least then as well too! Bugger!

I too got my unit around May this year, and sent off the upgrade thing in June/July... Been holding off modding the unit so far cos not much point if I'm going to redo the upgrade in a few weeks or so, or so I've been telling myself. If i knew it was going to take this long to get the upgrade(supposedly Aug 2009), would have played around with it much more..

Free Map Update News:

Just phoned Pioneer and asked for them to check that I'm on their free map update list because I'm getting fed up checking my mail each day only to be disappointed. I was told I missed the first batch of updates and they are having trouble with supply and I won't be getting it until at least mid November if they get enough in the next batch! The email I got and the first guy I spoke to at Pioneer told me that I would get it sometime over the next few weeks which was incorrect. Pretty piss poor performance from Pioneer once again. All I want is SUNA to work in Brisbane, other manufactures have had it working for months!

I sent off my claim in mid December 08. When did you guys post yours? She said it was all being done on a first come first serve basis but I'm down the bottom of the alphabet so I will probably be last more than likely.

I'm off to get a strong coffee. :o(

your not the only one ive been waiting and ringing pioneer keep telling me will be this week since august how hard is it to tell me the truth oh well just have to play the waiting game

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post to say I haven't gone anywhere, I have been reading the posts and what I'm upto.

I haven't posted simply because the time has not been available with my business and other projects.

On the Updates: These will be sent in batches of aprox 90 at a time. They will not go in the order you sent in the free upgrades. The order they are sent out and the delay in sending is dictated by SUNA not Pioneer. Suna issue the lic codes to that allow the Avic to decode the data. Pioneer have only got 90 codes so far from Suna so they have only sent out a total of 90 upgrades.

I don't have the update on my system as yet so I cant test a new release. I am working on restoring the links to my last release but I have to recover the files from a backup and upload again. I will get that done as soon as I possibility can. From what I can tell so far, a some of my unreleased mods (as posted in this thread) are in V3. I will try to concentrate on the Suna side once I have the basic mods installed.

If anyone that has V3 installed would like to help me out, I need a full copy of the V3 system to setup a new development test bed. Pm me if you can help. If anyone has any info on the avic serial numbers please PM me with that.

Please don't post that info.

I have done a lost of work decoding Suna, not just the avic stuff but the actual transmission protocols. I wont post any of the detailed info on a public forum. This lesson is hard learned for other things that use encrypted transmissions. Remember Suna is a subscription service and to put that stuff out publicly can only serve to have mods shutdown. I will post how Suna works (general info) if people want to know that stuff and how to use the TMC tuner with suna, just not the detailed breaking the data transmission stuff.

I don't have enough data to work out keys for individual units as yet so I cant send them to you. If I can work out the internal serial number I will be able to issue a "Suna for all" release right away. If I can also work out the model number I can release additional features that will not be part of the lic code you will get from Pioneeer. This info will not be in the flash disk so if anyone has access to the AU service manuals can you let me know if info is in that or not. The Suna code is paired with your internal model and serial number.

Cheers

i would not wory to much f310bt is a new model and is a lot faster and sound quality is fantastic compared to the 900bt. not sure but i think the 310 has already go the latest map .

i had the 310 for two week and i loved it but ended up being a faulty unit they told me they would send it off for repair and would take 2 to 3 week so i exchanged for the 900bt and i regret it oh well dont get me wrong the unit is good but quality of sound on the 310 was much better for the iphone

Posted Oct 18, 2009 · 04:26 UTC#135

Use this link for the files folder

http://www.4shared.com/dir/14084405/70e ... pdate.html

AVIC-FT900BT-R151 files have Sensis R15.1 maps + lic

V20a_Update files have above plus Mods and Hacks

V20a_Update1.rar is an update to V20a_Update for Suna you need V20a_Update installed first

See my posts on page 1 for the full details

To anyone in here that has the Aussie V3 with the new maps installed, can you please check something for me?

Last night as i was driving, i needed to find the closest McDonalds and i noticed that unlike V2 how there was a POI category called "Restaurants", in V3 its just not there anymore :?

Can anyone just check and tell me if its just my system that somehow just doesnt have it, or V3 doesnt have it? Because its theres no way to find any sort of restaurants or eating areas anymore....i looked through every single POI category and its not there, even Public Toilets are listed but not restaurants what the hell???!!!

Thanks

Posted Oct 18, 2009 · 10:14 UTC#137

Hi, I just checked - sadly, mine is the same! The closest thing I could find to "restaurants" or "food" is "Cafe", which covers a lot of cafes like Gloria Jeans and coffee type palces, but doesn't seem to cover the basic eating places like MacDonalds...

This is a bit of a problem really, one of the most basic searches!

Not sure how to fix this. :?

Posted Oct 18, 2009 · 10:39 UTC#138

Oh Wow how could Pioneer miss out on something like that?! I thought it might have been in "Cafe" aswell or even "leisure" or "night life" but nothing at all.

I can honestly say i would use the "restaurants" category more than anything else when i need to use the POI feature...and now its not even there :?

Do you think those POI's could still be there, but they just arent in a category? or pioneer just forgot to make one for them?

The wierd thing is, i had "Restaurants" available when i put on the 15dot1 maps on V2 :?

If i was to just change the maps and put on the 15dot1, would V3 still work properly? And if so, would i lose the SUNA updates?? Argh ive never had EVERYTHING go right with this unit at once, something has always been missing, and just when i thought V3 was completely flawless, this happens

Try seaching for business by name ie "MacD" should return Macca's if it's in there. That's how I found it on V2 because it takes ages trying to find it under headings.

Also you could just try copying the POIs from the V2 maps into the V3 POI folder (they are the Places Of Interest POI's that tell the Avic where Macca's is). Just add them, don't delete the V3 ones to start with, make sure you back up if you do have to delete the V3 ones.

Posted Oct 18, 2009 · 11:34 UTC#140

Oh ok then ill try that....but so that second option you said, is there a specific folder where all the POI's are kept? V2 i mean....because i still have all the backup files so ill look through them, and would it just be a copy-over thing?

If not, how can i get a hold of the V2 POI's?

Posted Oct 18, 2009 · 11:49 UTC#141

The POI's are in My Flash Disk\APL2\iGo\CONTENT\POI

In V2 all I have is a file called "Australia_productB.poi" @ 14304KB maybe you can have a look in V3 in the same folder (it's the folder that contain's your maps, buildings, speedcams etc) and let us know the file name and size. If it has a different file name just paste V2 in and see what happens. The worst things that can happen I can think would be to get a double up of some items.

Posted Oct 18, 2009 · 11:56 UTC#142

Okay i found them both....the POI file in V3 is just called "Australia.poi" and its 18,429kb.

So yeah ill make a backup of this file of course, and so what your suggesting is, to just add the V2 POI file in the unit? Do you think they would work together? Because frankly i was just thinking i could delete the V3 one (after backing up) and replacing it with the V2 file because they practically have all the same POI's, except that one has "Restaurants" in it.

Posted Oct 18, 2009 · 13:35 UTC#143

You could try renaming the V3 to .bak than put the V2 on, reboot see if Macca's turns up. Then maybe put the V3 back with the V2 and see what happens. They should be okay in the same folder because the file names are different and should both load. Have a play around.

Did you try searching by name?

Posted Oct 18, 2009 · 13:37 UTC#144

Yeah i tried and it didnt come up with anything :?

Tomorrow Ill have a go with what you just suggested and ill post up how it went

Is the Aussie V3 software update using IGO 8.0 or IGO 8.3?

Posted Oct 19, 2009 · 01:02 UTC#146

Mute and Delete route buttons on Map screen.

http://rapidshare.com/files/292334921/DATA.ZIP.html

There's the link, and there's no password, just download :)

Thanks to rodman1919 for his data.zip which he coded in the mute and delet route buttons on the latest v3 updated Australian version of F900BT...

I loaded it using testmode 2.3 (as suggested by lacehim), all works fine and makes the unit much more usable.

Thanks!

No worries techgeek88, glad it worked!

OK so i just got back from the car, and i copied the V2 POI file over (without deleting the V3 file) and nothing happened, so there were no changes in the POI's list...

then i deleted the V3 file and left the V2 there, and there weren't any POI's even available to choose from, i.e. the list of categories wouldn't even come up and no POI's would be found.

so i thought i could perhaps rename the V2 file into exactly the filename the V3 had, and i did that, still didn't work, and so yeah i just put everything back to the way it was, and the POI's are back.

i tried searching for McDonalds, but last time i searched "MacD" as was suggested (not pointing the finger or anything) and thats why nothing came up, but this time i searched "McD" and lots of McDonalds Restaurants came up, and e.g. i typed in "Hungry" and the closest Hungry Jacks came up...

but the thing is, when they show up on the list, they have the community icon next to them, so i dont know why they are in the Communit POI category and what sub-category they are in.

i even tried to go to the "Destination" menu and add the POI's from USB/SD and i had the V2 POI on my SD card of course, and nothing showed up.

i don't know for a fact whether V3 uses iGo8 or iGo8.3 but do you think that perhaps the reason why they don't read each other is because V2 and V3 used different iGo versions or something? how can i find out the iGo version so i can let you know?

its such a pain having to TYPE the restaurant rather than just having a category for it....so if anyone knows a way around it, please help out.

Thanks

I know a few folk on here have made custom POI's and have their down symbols. ie you might beable to have the big M for Macca's. At least we know they are in there. The new V3 seems to have more in it anyway. Sorry for the MacD's thing, I remembered that I did that when searching mine! :)

Have a search on here for POIs and let me know what you find. You should beable to edit them and add more according to the manual.

How can i find out whether im using iGo8 or 8.3?

Gosh its alot of work getting those POI's to work for us....well based on what ive read so far

viewtopic.php?f=34&t=18428

thats for the US, and this guy asked if they would work for EU and he said they wouldn't, so im guessing it wouldn't work for us either, which is a real shame because the author of that thread made one .zip file with all the POI branding icons, so it would've been so convenient for us to just add.

I'll keep looking but perhaps tonight or something.....really need a break from the computer

By the way, does anybody know how to get a TMC Traffic updates shortcut on the GPS interface? i.e. on the maps itself rather than going through the menu? Like just adding a shortcut button?
