BORIS or anyone

So far I am enjoying the new skin, however I find the font for reading the street names to be a bit too small. Is there a way to bold it or perhaps nudge it up a couple sizes, I find myself having to lean in to read the streets a bit more than I like.

This isn't really a "problem" just an oddity I thought I would report. Normally during startup my splash screen (pioneer default) shows up until it loads the TOP MENU, but about 50% of the time, I will see the PIONEER splash screen for a few seconds and then it goes black, the system still loads the TOP MENU normally, but it appears that perhaps the 2nd splash screen isn't showing up all the time. As I said not really a problem just thought I'd mention it.

For 2D map, change

[interface]

mapfontscale=120

to some other value. For 3D map play with

[3d_config]

roadsign_lines_per_screen=14

Smaller values give you bigger font.

You could always use the line below in your sys.txt. it will put the street names in a bubble like the screen below. it makes it easier to read.

[3d_config]

disable_roadsign_navigation_mode=0

It will look like normal when you start up igo. after you get a GPS signal or simulate a route it will put the street names in bubbles.

That is really slick, I'm gonna give it a shot but I use 2d mode 90% of the time.. is there a 2d version of this?

I re-installed the original 2.006 firmware to get TTS working. However after I replaced APL2 with the 3.0 version, TTS was no longer working. Looks like some files were replaced that makes TTS not working. Any idea what went wrong?

1) make sure you have the correct device type setup in the sys.txt file.

2) put your original license file into License folder, in your case, you should have two license files: your original license file and the generic world license file

If you still having problem, post back I will try to post my Voice and Language files to my internet share

I checked again. Yes, indeed I have those setup. Still TTS doesn't work.

1) [device]

type="PIONEER749UC"

2) Two License files

Appreciate your help.

When I say the original license file, I mean the one from your original backup, not the one from the x910bt 3.0 package.

Anyway, I will upload my language pack to my share (see at Page 4), you can check there in a about one hour or so.

Susan and Dave high quality TTS is in 84MB package, you don't need this package if you only want Samantha TTS.

Thanks, yeek. Just to confirm that the original 200.6 firmware license is needed to make TTS work. Now there are three licenses in the folder and they are in no conflict. :D:D:D

Good to know. That just means the EZRider.exe is not fully hacked, at least not for the TTS part.

Although I didn't test the package from osmenog, but if you DELETEd the whole IGO folder, and replaced it with the downloaded one, it definately not work.

1) Missing Map, the osmenog package does not contains map/dem/poi etc.

2) Missing ScanSoft folder, which is the nounce TTS engine

3) You may also need your original license file and the generic world license file.

Good luck

I had the same problem and after days of frustration discovered that launching IGO from explorer and selecting your language file (it will prompt automatically) remedies the problem, at which point I can reboot and everything works. So simple...but was soooo frustrating. Definitely something to try...

I got only two problems left.

1. It won't save my voice volume.

2. it won't save my smartzoom setting

For the rest it is perfect.

Me neither...and I have tried! Just about given up. Also have the F90BT.....reboot, after reboot, after reboot!

Try your original ezrider.exe file. I suspect the one in the gurjon package is the hacked version. I think there are issues with the hacked version and some Avics (from reading the hacked 3.0 thread).

I had to add this to the sys.txt of the latest gurjon release to get the disply to show correctly. It was only showing the upper left hand corner of the screen until I added this.

add to sys.txt if you have display problems.

[rawdisplay]

screen_x=800

screen_y=480

class="landscape"

highres=0

dpi=250

I am trying it on the emulator. The error I am getting is "Failed to open ui_IGO8\240_320\loading.bmp". SO I added the above to the sys.txt and I get a fatal error. Where would I find this bmp?

Now I really screwed up. After trying everything to get Gurjon working( it was hanging at system starting up) I decided to delete my flash drive and go back to what I had orginally. It is still hanging. I tried to insall firmware 3.0 andit copied the files and after installing data files and others, it still hangs.

What would you suggest going rom here?

Thanks

Before you give up, I suggest you to try launching the ezrider.exe (must be the Hacked Vesion) from TestMode, make sure you have both your original license file and the world generic license file. The gurjon mod basically turned the ezrider.exe acting more like the standard Igo, if you had cleaned up your userdata, the first time you have to lanch it thru TestMode, because, Standard Igo needs a few User Setting to be done on the first time usage. However the Pioneer Shell prevent you from doing that.

After you setup your language, voice etc. by running it thru TestMode, reboot, then it should work.

Good luck

Alright, I loaded this mod and it works great. Good job guys! The only problem is now that I loaded it into my wifes trailblazer, she doesn't like it. I think there is too much for her and its too complicated for her.

I tried to get rid of it by copying a different mod over the files, but then it would get stuck on "System is starting up" and then reboot. So then I loaded this mod back on and works fine.

How do I get rid of this mod?

Thanks for the info Yeek!

When I run ezrider, the Pioneer screen comes up and then a little box says my Maps are outdated. I did see the languages at bottom of screen but not sure where to go next. I tried hitting the Languages button and nothing happens. How do I get to where I can change the language and voice?

Put your original license (the one from your backup) and the generic world license and try again.

BTW, which map are you using, TA 2009.02 or NT 2009Q1?

Not sure of the maps. I copied the original license and got the error message. It is:

Failed to open file

ui_igo8\960_540 loading bmp.

I appreciate you helping me out.

Make sure you have following setting in the sys.txt file:

[rawdisplay]

screen_x=800

screen_y=480

class="landscape"

highres=0

dpi=250

With this setting it should looking for bmp files from ui_igo8\800_480.

I added that in before you responded. It is up and running. Thanks for the help. It looks very cool! I learned a few more things like run ezrider in test mode etc.

Thanks for all your help!

Hello,

first of all i would like to say that this is a very nice skin with many features. :D:D:D

My questions are?

1. Is it possible to remove the clock and shift up the compass and all the buttons so my Ipod screen will not lay over the menu-button? :idea:

2. how must i install the dutch speedcam voices and where can i get these?

Regards,

navigarie

Posted Aug 29, 2009 · 15:56 UTC#119

Hello,

I have the speedcamera voices up en running.

I only get after a while an "out of memory" Error when i'm navigating to som destination.

Does anyone know what it can be? :?:?

Posted Aug 29, 2009 · 16:00 UTC#120

I also have these 2.

Maybe if you use the exitbutton the settings will be saved ??

I will try it later.

I got only two problems left.

1. It won't save my voice volume.

2. it won't save my smartzoom setting

For the rest it is perfect.

Posted Aug 29, 2009 · 20:55 UTC#121

I have tried several options but the system.ini will not be updated for the master volume setting.

the value stays at 255.

When i change that value by han in both system.ini and sys.txt even hardcoded in pioneer.ini it will not be read from ezrider.exe

I have no idea anymore.

i'm going back to my default skin because i have not enough time at the moment look at it.

Did you try to do as osmenog suggested: (do not forget 2 deleting system.ini from save directory (D:\My Flash disk\User\UserData\iGo\save) because it can contain some old informations...

Posted Aug 29, 2009 · 23:10 UTC#123
Yeek thanks for the excellent suggestion, it worked perfectly. I added the following lines to sys.txt and now my soft-hack for the parking break speed is working fine:

In sys.txt add:

[pioneer]

parking_break_speed=255.0

hide_logos=1

Hope this helps others, technically I left the same lines in the igo8_generic.ini file, so I don't know for sure if putting it in just sys.txt is enough, but having it in both does work.

It does work to just add it to your sys.txt. I just usd this:

[pioneer]

parking_break_speed=255.0

No more warning about the brake sensor being miswired.

Also, tried installing an IGO8 TTS package and had the same problem as someone else. It says UNDERSCORE DASH UNDERSCORE THE NEXT STREET.... Pretty useless that way.

Posted Aug 29, 2009 · 23:21 UTC#124

I didn't try the TTS package, but the standard TTS does tell me which side the destination is on. :)

Not sure how or who added it but wanted to say thanks!

Speaking of "you destination is on the LEFT/Right side" should be done thru modification to the command.csv inside the TTS Voice file. I don't think you are using the standard TTS.

Refer: viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25147&p=182702

Could you post your TTS voice file on the net?

Thanks,
