Probably. If I remember the truck, in the smaller of the 2 plugs there should be a dark/green white wire. That's vss.

Well its a no go on either dark green with a black stripe behind the radio. But green white stripe under the fuse box under the hood driver side by the firewall works perfect

VSS on 2001 Audi TT quattro? What is the actual purpose of this wire. I was hoping to just hide the brain and gps antenna and then solder my wires from my harness to the back of the head unit. Thanks a lot

2000 FORD F350 Desiel.......VSS and Reverse??

For the F350, they would be long wires, but grab reverse from your trailer harness at the back of the truck. While you're at it you can grab the VSS from on top of the rear differential. The VSS has two wires, if one doesn't work try the other.

Any idea where they are inside the cab? Maybe a little closer to the head unit......

VSS - gray/black wire, at PCM. The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is located on the driver side of the firewall under the hood.

I have a 05 Altima without the Bose, but the stock deck had the vehicle speed control for the volume. On the factory harness I have the light pink wire. Is this the correct wire or do I need to use the blue/white wire behind the cluster. If it is behind the cluster, how do I access it? Thanks in advance for any help.

Test it with a multimeter. If thats it, the voltage will fluctuate as your car moves.

I found a post here asking about VSS info for a 2007 Toyota Matrix and posted info about a 2004, but we just bought a 2006 Toyota Matrix that we want to install a D3 in and were wondering where the VSS wire was and where the best place to steal reverse power was (without going to the taillights unless it is best) for this year.

positive. Not too many cars have a negative reverse wire.

Speed Sense purple/white ECM, second plug from right, pin 17

Notes: The ECM (Engine Control Module) is behind the glove box.

Reverse Light red/black + front of fuse box, 10 pin plug

Also the same color in the driver's harness to the rear of the vehicle.

Still looking for what the loose wires are from the adapter (just heading over to Metra's site now). Do they correspond with the same colors coming off the D3, or Toyota's wire colors?

My wife just got the z2 installed over at Circuit City. I was checking various screens and found that her VSS isn't connected (unit is in Simple Hybrid Mode). Anyone know where to find the wire on a 2004 Ford Freestar? She didn't have speed sensative volume (that I'm aware of) but she does have cruise control.
