Anyone have any technicial info on Pioneer's IP-Bus System? It think it would be possible to take the X50's Audio Out, and give it a IP Bus Connection or something.

Nice Install, looks factory. Those BMW Radio's are a pain. Do you like the SMG? It's the same thing as tiptronic right? You have to shift or is it "automatic"? I have allways driven manual cars (except for SUV's and what not) so I don't know what I would do without a clutch.
It is not tiptronic. It is a hydraulic clutch that goes in and out, except I don't actually push in a clutch. It is the same gearbox as in a farrari.
Ahh, nice. I'll have to try one of those sometime.

I have a Escort Passport 8500 X50 and wanted to get this topic moving along. Anyone ever interface a Radar Detector with a AVIC Unit?

See here: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=34 However, none of the new logos work yet. Just the XL ones.

I really doubt the D1 will talk to the bluetooth unit. I could be wrong.
Can I just hook it up to the Z1 with power and ground to the HU's illumination wire without hooking it up to my car's nonexistant wire?
Yes

I borrowed this image from a Guest's Website.

Short Answer: No Long Answer: In theory, if you can determine what the audio out and control leads are for the factory xm, you could use it as a Aux input.

Hey Guys, I was wondering what you think of this. I know there is one person on here with an Infinity G35 that has this, I was wondering how you like it. Newegg has it on sale ($89.99 w/o HDD), and I was considering buying it. It has a sweet on screen interface, and will play ripped DVD's directly as a folder. Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6855182001 With a 80 GB Hard Drive, the total cost comes to $172.98 Thanks, Jason

I see that your WRX Background says annimated! Did you just place it in the animated folder or did you actually figure out how to get animation to work?

See this guide: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=99 Short answer: you need a (allmost) full nav dvd.

Here ya go! You can have up to 10 pims in the folder I think.
Insert just, any wire into an empty hole in the harness and tie that to ground? Just want to be crystal clear when I go in - I suck at car stereo installs. Thanks guys, this information is awesome.
Yeah, any spare wire will do. Just make sure it contants with the harness pin and is secure.
-
Yes, I don't know what everyone is talking about. Like whtcrxght said: For the D1/D2: "All you have to do is ground the brake and insert a wire in the open hole in the harness and ground that wire too."

When I first put my D1 in, I was super paranoid about theft at school, so I made a paper "faceplate". I took a picture of the stock radio, printed it on matte card stock, and could stick it on top of the D1. It looked very convincing, but I never used it.

Wow, that docking port is awesome. Great work!

Oh god, don't remind me. It took me DAYS to get navtraffic activated. No one at "listener care" had a clue what I was talking about. It finally got resolved when I found the VP in charge of NavTraffic and sent him an email.

Here ya go. Thank god for Photoshop Layers.
