1. It pauses when you get/make a call
2. Pretty sure this'll be blocked from work on Monday.
3. Found the problem. Everything I read said the reverse light wire was under the passinger side kick panel, black and pink. Found a black and pink wire there and tapped into it...WRONG! I popped the tail light out, found the wire (black and pink, sure enough), followed it down and to the driver side and into the cab. Identical wire, just on driver side, tapped into it and life is good.
4. Wrathernaut - I went ahead and corrected my late night error, thank you for setting me straight. I tested all my grounds and power supplies before installing (hard lesson learned years ago) but I'm not sure I have the right reverse wire. My truck is a Lincoln Mark LT which is basically a F150 but I did come across a couple differences doing my install and their is little info on that truck. Is their an option other than the wiring harness to connect this wire (such as connecting directly to a reverse light wire)?
5. I just installed my X910BT (wired bypass) and everything is great...except the back up cam. It does not turn on automatically when i put it in reverse, though I can manually turn it on. If I change the setting to ground in the setting control panel, the unit starts in the cam mode and won't shut off unless I reset the unit.
6. wow, tossing insults for a pretty simple question (that no one has answered yet)
7. Has anyone tried the hardware bypass yet? Mine is coming in tomorrow and I'm installing on Friday.
8. This is great, I just ordered my X90 and was wondering if I'd be able to listen to Pandora like I could with my old Alpine.
9. I had the same question but called Crutchfield and they said the only reason their site says that is because they haven't tested it but he said it will fit just fine. ORDERED
10. I had the same problem and it was actually an easy fix. My Z1's BT was located just below my cup holder in my Avalanche, which is were my iPhone ended up (in the cup holder). Once it started making that horrible noise I couldn't get it to stop until I transfered the call back the the headset. Once I moved the BT unit away from the phone, no more noise. I just got a BlackBird II from Santa and I set up the BT on that and it automatically saw all my contacts, recent calls and missed calls. Too bad the speaker is so weak that you can't use it if you're actually driving.
11. No, I have a second touch screen for the Mini.
12. I am interested in a universal tv tuner as well, anyone have an answer for #2?
13. I had Kar Tunes in Sterling install mine. They are fast and do nice work plus they don't care if you bring your own equipment. They are also a Pioneer dealer so they know their stuff. Ask for Dan when you call 703-406-0825
14. You should check out http://www.mbenznl.com/index.php for COMAND and other MB stuff. I bought a Euro version of the COMAND for my wifes C class from them and they were great to deal with.
15. I agree with jgx about the mini but would really like to see someone setup a iTV as a carputer. Rumor has it the Mini is about to be discontinued and no rumors of a replacement so the iTV might be our next best bet. If you want more info about both of these projects you should check out www.mp3car.comand go to the mac forum.
16.
Hi All, I just installed the bluetooth adapter to my Z-1, and all looks well, but I can't seem to get the passkey to accept. I've changed it in the phone settings of the Z-1, and my MDA recognizes it fine, but it won't pass that final step. Any ideas? Thanks for any help, Ryd
I know this is an old post but as will happen sometimes, I'm now in the same boat as you with the MDA (except no problem with WiFi). Did you manage to get the MDA to work? It's odd I'm having this problem since I had my E815 working fine.
17.
hey macvalanche, I dont have the avalanche but i have the silverado. I was thinking og getting this tuner also. I was curious about mounting the antenna under my soft tonneau cover, like just on top of or directly inside the bed rails. Maybe you could do that too. I thought about mounting my gps antenna there if i didnt get good signal under my dash but its great where it is.
I'm sorry guys, I don't know how I overlooked your posts. I think I'll put the front one on my windshield right where it meets the headliner. I think I'm going to try putting the b
18. That's sort of what I thought but I wanted to hear from someone who had tried it. The Avalanche has a plastic “rollbar” that I would like to put one of the antennas in. I have no idea why I’m being so cautious about this purchase, I ordered the Z1 2 months before it was released sight unseen. Well I guess it’s time to order, send flowers to my funeral after my wife finds out I’m spending another $300 on my system. :?
19. One more question. I have a Chevy Avalanche and the back window comes out so I don’t want to connect an antenna to it. Would the antennas work if I put them under a piece of plastic trim? If not has anyone used these http://www.shop.com/op/~Pyle_magnetic_m ... _amos_main or one like it?
20. Those look great. Are they that good when you're driving?
21. Will everyone who has a TV tuner take a look at a post I put up in the “Other Products” General section (don’t want to duplicate a post) http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2066
22. Can someone post pics of either Pioneer GEX-P5700TV or GEX-P7000TV tv tuner screen shots? I’m considering this upgrade to my Z1 but haven’t been able to find anyone using it locally. I have heard good things but I remember the days of the old “wing” antennas people put on their trunks and those sucked. Also how about some reviews from users, how it looks parked vs. moving.
23. Sorry, when I see ppc I think you mean the Apple Power PC(PPC). I don’t know enough about the HP PPC to help you but you can probably find a suitable DC converter at [url=http://www.mp3car.com">www.mp3car.com and as far as cameras go there are several WiFi cameras available out there
24.
Well, this is my goal! I want to free up my old HP Jorando 565 by getting a new PPC and phone combo. I would like to install a few wired or wireless cames in my truck in hidden spots and have the PPC stored in a well or so with constant power and retrieving images from the cameras. At this point I would settle with the images being captured to be stored on the PPC 2 gig compact flash card, but I would prefer using my old cell phone and create a data connection to the PPC to be able to upload to my in house server or to be able to view live video via my new PPC and ph
25.
'Hope you're running a separate power supply lead for that computer -- preferably your own installed wire that doesn't rely on the Accessory Circuit (or any other in-dash circuit) to signal "when" to turn on. Back when I was in Vegas, someone tried to steal my car, and used a hand-held stun gun on my head unit (one end to a knob post, the other to a wire that led to ground, I assume). That pretty much blew out the fuse, along with every device that lived on that circuit. This guy knew what he was doing. After talking about it on another forum, someone suggeste
