  1. Yea I don't get it either, they provide the information to any first time poster that comes here, but only via messaging.
  2. First of all, its an expensive multimedia device with support for both Android Auto and Apple car. But as to the spoken voice, make sure you have chosen a voice that supports street names. My 8100 speaks street names and highway numbers and names just fine.
  3. Maybe make a new contact list in your Google account, and use that list solely for these locations? Then you can just say "Navigate to..." whatever you saved in this contact from AA
  4. Don't forget to correct the subject of this thread to "....downgrade to UK". Let's just put that out there and get it right. Thank you
  5. I have one of these on my Expedition, and it's angled down to the bumper/tow hitch, so i can parallel park this behemoth easier here in the big city lol https://amzn.com/B0051XB2NK
  6. Sounds like your marriage was put to the test on that long, quiet ride home
  7. Chromecast. I use my Nexus 6P to tether, and i bought a new cheap moto phone for $20 to be the "remote" for the chromecast
  8. I live in NYC, it's a little bit bigger than Phoenix. Have you heard of it? I don't get the same issues you do. I have an 8100, but the base maps should be the same.
  9. I had the Nexus 6, now the Nexus 6P used with my 8100. What other things are you talking about?
  10. I have an 8100 and a Nexus 6P phone. I plug the phone into USB solely for Android Auto (and google maps). I have a Google Chromecast plugged into the HDMI. I purchased a cheap Verizon prepaid android for $20 (with NO service) to use as the remote for the Chromecast, and I use the Nexus 6P WiFi hotspot to tether to the Chromecast for data.
  11. You can listen to other audio apps via bluetooth from your phone onto your NEX, but I dont think you can control it, only Pandora. Just select Bluetooth from the source menu, not the settings menu.
  12. You don't have the PB wire connected to ground, do you?
  13. AppRadio and Android Auto are not one in the same.
  14. "This app is incompatible with all of your devices." Really? Nexus 6 and Nexus 6P. Fuck you Pioneer
  15. They should have added Which USB port to use if you are using a USB Flash Drive: I updated my NEX using just the SD card slot behind the screen. My USB Port 1 is used to power my Chromecast.
  16. For future reference for anyone stumbling across this, any data cable will work fine. You can't use a cable that is charge-only. On a side-rant, I don't know why anyone makes a charge-only cord anymore. Especially with the proliferation of QuickCharge 2.0, you need to have a regular data/charge USB cable for QC2.0 to work.
  17. Put your antenna on top of the dash, not inside of it. I understand it is only plastic above the antenna, but it is just another material dampening the sat signals. I have my antenna on top of the dash in the corner by the passenger A pillar with a clear view of the sky, and since installation it has not lost me. Even recalculating when I deviate from its route is within seconds.
  18. So where is the news? this is the same stuff they have been saying for over a year
  19. Has anyone figured out a way to use "OK Google" without tapping the screen? I tried using a Satechi BT Home button ( http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RM75NOW/) with a Bluetooth remapping app on my phone. It works with my phone not connected, but once I connect my phone to my headunit, the phone doesn't respond to the BT button. I don't have steering wheel controls, and I am just trying to make it easier to use voice command without taking my eyes off the road to look for and tap the onscreen Mic button. Thanks!
  20. ah ok, I understand. Thank you for explaining
  21. No, thats not the first time that message appeared. Anytime you plug a phone into the headunit for the first time, it pops up on the screen asking "Do not display this notice again" with a check box and an accept button. The reason the screen looks screwy like that is because the custom ROM you are using is not using the native DPI for display. Granted, your screen is not mirrored, but this exact incident has come up before and solved to be the custom DPI on ROMs. FYI, stock DPI for a Nexus 6 is 560.
  22. Who is lucca, and why is the filename of the image degrading lucca?
  23. Really? Sorry for hijacking your thread lol just strange that two separate people post the same question the same week about moving overseas. Good luck! I hope you find a workaround
  24. didn't your other half already post on here? http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/81512-8100nex-igo-maps-middle-east-how-do-i-load-new-maps-not-on-naviextras/
