  1. LOL so I am a dick. Good come back. Take your three posts and troll elsewhere, my friend.
  2. Yes, because EVERYONE else is wrong, and you are correct. Enjoy the trophy for just participating.
  3. Living in NYC with 15+ year old red light cameras, I am surprised not one of them have shown up on my updated 8100 yet. They really need to do something about AVICsync
  4. This is the internet folks. If one or two people have similar issues with a device, that means the entire line of that device is defective. Simple edumahcation.
  5. I purchased these. Monoprice cables are high quality, and this particular one comes with a ferrite core on each. So far so good, even with these high temps here in NYC. http://amzn.com/B003L1380E I used these HDMI cables (I only needed one, but its a two pack for a low price), and hasn't failed me yet either: http://amzn.com/B0052SCU8U As for the mini jack, haven't had an issue with the factory one (yet). I have my attached to where the Ford stock mini-jack used to be.
  6. And you won't if you keep deviating from her directions!
  7. Have you plotted routes with Android Auto yet? I plot my way home from work every night. I know my way home, but Android Auto keeps me updated with audio alerts the whole ride home. Whole alerts, not just a phrase or two. She will say something like "There is a six minute slowdown in 8 miles. This is still the quickest way to your destination. You should arrive at 6:42".
  8. Sounds like you never owned an AVIC before. Get used to it
  9. The cable you purchased might have just been a charging cable, regardless of what they advertised in the eBay auction. You need a data/charge USB cable, which is what the second cable you used is. Complain to eBay and get your money back for item not as described.
  10. lol a douchebag with 5 posts trolls me with a 2 year old meme. Nice. Welcome to AVIC411. You will fit in just fine
  11. Still not happy that WhatIs deleted all of his posts. You are hiding code of an open source project.
  12. For HDMI, i ran a cable from the head unit to my center console in between my two front seats. I currently have a chromecast plugged in. This is the HDMI cable I used that works fine (its a 2 pack): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0052SCU8U And I used this coupler on the end inside my center console (also a pack of 2): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CJHXY0U
  13. Not sure about the AVH, but the AVIC models get the time automatically from the satellites, you just have to adjust your time zone on the headunit.
  14. There has to be a setting in the Navi settings. I live in NYC, and my buddy cntrylvr79 from these forums installed it for me in NJ. It was a long ride home constantly being informed I was speeding. lol as soon as I got back home, i found the setting somewhere in the menus. I just cant remember right now. When I get back in my truck tomorrow for work, i will look,
  15. I don't think Pioneer really cares, because the same occurred in the original update for the 8100. In fact, Pioneer mentioned in the install instructions that 8100 users will see a folder named 5000NEX
  16. Think before you reply to someone. Do you appreciate people calling you names? Neither do they. Cut it out.
  17. It could be a few reasons for the better reception. Was there a tint at the top of the old windshield thats not on the new? or is it smaller tint? (some tint is metallicized). is the antenna lower on the new windshield than the old? Even the slightest movement can help getting a lock on more satellites
  18. You didnt have to use that monstrous mount for the PAC, did you? Do you have a pic? When I get back in my truck Monday, I will take pics of my HU amd the cig lighter plug
  19. I did something similar to your PAC usb extension replacing a cigarette lighter plug, but I got something that looks a little more OEM. Its a Chevy product, but it looks good in my Ford. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161190322991 and the best part is that the back of the plug is a simple Mini USB plug. I can use any brand cable and any length with it. I also ran an HDMI extension cord from the AVIC into my center console, so i can change out the Chromecast with any other HDMI peripheral. I have to take pics of my setup
  20. its pretty cool to have a Chromecast in a vehicle. I've had Chromecasts in my home since they were released about two years ago. My regular phone is the wireless hotspot for data, and i bought a brand new Moto G for $25 from Best Buy to use as a Chromecast remote. Now I can do Netflix, Hulu, HBO2Go, etc
  21. Thanks for the info and the pics! I am definitely looking into doing the same setup. I already have a Chromecast plugged into the HDMI and I use my phone as a hotspot so I can watch Netflix and such while she goes in to shop lol
  22. Can i ask which digital tv tuner? can it be used for a passenger while in motion? I like to take weekend road trips and it would be nice if my GF could watch her shows while travelling. I heard digital tuners were horrible at receiving signals while in motion, but that was years ago. I can hope technology has gotten better Thanks!
  23. Resistive isnt meant to pinch and zoom, but it does horribly. capacitive is the way to go
  24. I found another YouTube video made by Pioneer, showing Pandora working with a Bluetooth-connected phone, a Nexus 4 (which is a two year old phone!). I will try to remember and take pics of my settings display when i leave work tomorrow
