WARNING: don't upgrade to IOS 8.4, it'll brick your carplay
Kstryker replied to gasongasoff's topic in NEX Series
I am having issues. My IP6+ on 8.4 is jailbroken and my screen either goes blank or I can't play music from the music app when I launch carplay. I'm about to restore and upgraded to 8.4.1 later this week to see if it will resolve my issue. -
I updated mine to 1.10, however I'm now having map issues. I'm actually going to submit a thread about it.

Thanks for sharing bud.

I'll check this later today... I have a jailbroken iP6.
-
I need some clarification on this... Where is this speed sensor connecting to? I will check the settings options mentioned above but what I'm experiencing is that anything over 30mph, the HU will show me as +3mph over.

Looks awesome... I can't wait!
-
Wow...are there map updates already?

What Epsil said is all that I read.

So here's my scenario...driving on a main road and drive into a local walmart. The navigation will throw me onto the closest road it "thinks" I'm on. Where can I take this off for it not to do this? Anyone experience this?
-
Double that... Also check under the car as well. I had my car sent to a shop and they used the wrong jack points and there is a huge dent in the bottom frame where the car caved in some what. Check for orange peel, where the paint looks textured...

Thanks for the recommendation Tekki... it definitely does make sense tweaking it one notch at a time and if I like the change, move to the next section.
-
That's what I thought it was as well. I don't believe there are actual commands for the HU.

I'm not an audiophile and never really understood the EQ settings, does anyone have a good recommendation on what to set it as. I just used one of the presets.
-
So what's the story?
-
I've seen an issue when driving on roads that aren't on the map, it will randomly put you onto the closet road which is really weird.
-
God damn...sorry to hear that Dre!!

Is it possible the PAC harness is bad?
-
I'm running an iP5S with 7.x and haven't experienced this. It does take a little longer than I'd like for the unit to connect to the iPhone when I first turn the car on but when it does, never had an issue.

I went with the 7000 only because when I examined both units in the local audio shop both units looked identical. The 7000 has anti-glare coating so it won't be as bright or vibrant as the 8000. TBH, I really couldn't see much of a difference, though the 8000 seemed just a tad bit faster. Dre, when you dim the lights inside your car, the unit dims as well? Like if you manually use your dimmer switch, will the unit dim?

Official AVIC NEX Bypass (AVIC NEX Units Only)
Kstryker replied to installereric's topic in NEX Series
Well said... All they would need to do is bring a brand new unit vs the unit in question and if yours plays regardless of driving while the new one doesn't they'd be free and clear. -
Does Anyone Know How To Enable Voice Commands On A AVIC-8000NEX?

The price posted for the 7000 is what I paid from a confirmed authorized dealer on eBay.
