  1. http://www.pioneer-carglobal.com/en/CarPlay/ This website is the most dishonest representation of the truth I've ever seen -- it basically claims that Carplay is a current feature. I'm not freaking out over Carplay, really, just that it pisses me off that Pioneer sold me on this system. I would have bought something cheaper but for Carplay, which may never arrive before the next NEX units arrive.
  2. First, why do you care if people speculate? It's fun and give people a reason to come to this (otherwise kind of slow) site. Also, I don't think it is all Pioneer. Apple is waiting until their software is perfect too - they don't want any bad press on their products. If it's buggy upon release, their rep machine will feel the burn. Time will tell who's right (and it will be me ). SO, GUYS, KEEP UP THE GOOD SPECULATIVE FUN!
  3. If you think Apple and Pioneer and/or Apple is waiting for ios8, why even bake it in ios7? I don't see the logic.
  4. You are welcome. Good luck with the reinstalling a new stereo! I'm actually very glad I got the 4000, if only for the removable faceplate.
  5. Yeah, that's wrong. The 4000 definitely has hdmi.
  6. Does the Avic-u260 use the HDMI input?
  7. Yes, look at the book that came with the system. p.83 - Called blending.
  8. We are talking about gullibility.
  9. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
  10. Here's another video of Carplay. I'm actually starting to get a bit antsy in waiting for Carplay -- everyone else was antsy weeks ago, so I know I'm in good company 😄. 2015 Hyundai Sonata -- First Drive with Alabama Factory Tour & In Depth Apple Car Play Demo http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fTOmg16xWZ4
  11. Patience, really, I wait for the radio to fully startup before plugging in. I also start Waze and let it get going before I plugin. Finally, I ignore the radio's request to open the appradio app when I do plug in the phone (prob should just uninstall). I, honestly, see no use in using appradio and probably would be happier without all the waiting etc, but it isn't bad enough for me to hate it -- ultimately, it does what it's supposed to, albeit very slowly. Heck, if there's never a Waze app on Carplay, I'll probably still use Appradio. I feel compelled to have Waze open to upload the data and
  12. I may be in the minority here, because I don't really don't see what the fuss is all about. I've got a system down that takes most of the pain out of using AppRadio Mode. Why do you hate it so vehemently?
  13. I use USB2 for App Radio on my iPhone. I think this isn't supposed to work, I guess, but it does.
  14. And the NEX too, I bet. http://m.tuaw.com/2014/06/26/volvo-honda-hyundai-cars-to-be-cross-compatible-with-ios-andr/?ncid=rss_truncated
  15. What interest does Pioneer have in leaving bugs simply because there's a (supposed) easy fix? I don't follow the logic. That said, if this has been a bug from the start and it hasn't been addressed, you may be right that they won't fix it. I assume it's because they can't, but I doubt they aren't fixing because there's a way around it.
  16. I'm constantly distracted by having to look at the phone and/or screen to get last prompts. Just prompt me on startup and stop the "allow" after I allow it the first time.
  17. Agree, this is a great app. I used the internet radio for a while today and it was exceptional. I also wish Waze could replace the nav option in Live.
  18. Does anyone else notice a significant decrease in sound quality when using AppRadio Mode? For example, if I listen to only Pandora, the sound quality is crisp and clear. Once AppRadio Mode is started and Pandora is essentially running in the background, the quality is reduced to a muddy, reduced quality? I guess the reason is that the audio is routed differently once AppRadio Mode is enabled. I'd like to be able to have Waze up on the screen without sacrificing sound quality.
  19. Holy moly. This has been exhaustively covered in this forum -- search for it. Not to mention that book that came with the radio tells you exactly how to do this. More importantly, am I the only one who thinks "thanks in advance" is extremely rude? Why not just say thank you after someone helps you?
  20. Okay, so, in theory, someone with a Ford or similar can push a button ("my vehicle" or something) and change their climate control just like on stock unit -- given the lack of gauges, I just figured this sort of stuff wouldn't be integrated.
  21. What are the other features which will be added that don't function now?
