My dads 2013 Lincoln MKZ has a high piched nosie in the rear speakers when the music is at a low level or off but since he is older and sits in the front seat it doesnt bother his, it would me!

Going to do some listening tests in my car comparing Lossless and 256bit mp3 file size is about 1/3 for 256 mp3 will be using Almond Bros.1994 basically live recording "Where it all begins" in my truck. And a few other songs

GOOD points but I dont see FLAC as worth it I grew up w records and can tell some sound better than their cd counter parts i have converted some records to mp3 and can't tell a difference with the same equipment both sound the same to me converted to 256VBR mainly

Actually It doesnt even really do DD because there is not true center channel. Althought my system comes close with two extra tweeters in the middle air vents the only speaker that are running off the head unit

I probably wont bother since I don't drive to unfamiliar locations, but I don't have a smart phone. I guess one of the Garmin stand alone units would be a better choice than $320 for the pioneer u260

4000 is the best VALUE IMO and has a remote and a removable face and it has the nav option for $320 if I want to add it for a total price est. $870 vs $1000 for the 8000

Your right just the 5k and 6k but I dont really see the point on just removing that.
