  1. Sweet didn't realize they already issued another update!
  2. Well the nex line was release a little under a year ago. They never released a firmware for avicsync and the carplay was originally supposed to bed early summer. They also don't seem to communicate well on what they are doing so I wouldn't hold my breath. The comments from other Pioneer owners is that they are not never good about firmware updates. However it does kind of seem like they are working on the amp popping problem so maybe they will fix that...
  3. Yeah check the fan, I had the same problem and the cables were blocking the fan. It would run about 45 minutes to an hour then shut down. Once I pulled it and readjusted the cables it worked fine.
  4. Okay, I've done something wrong and this isn't working. It did for one time but since then it won't read the iPhone anymore and it comes up with an error code (can't remember which one right now). So this hasn't worked out as good as I thought it would have... I'm sure I've done something wrong and once I get it resolved I'll be good to go (maybe bad cable or something) but sure would have been nice if it had just worked! Oh well...
  5. So I'm plugged in my old iPhone cable to USB 2 and I'm going to store it in the glove box and see if that will work okay as a dedicated iPod for my NEX7000. At least that way all the sorting will work correctly and hopefully everything will just work. Considering it isn't worth very much anymore this should be a good bang for the buck. It's a 32gb so it's kinda a mirror of my SD card without the hassle. Anyone else have any repurposed plans for old devices?
  6. Well so far this seems to be helping. I did the Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings. I was able to connect via bluetooth (phone) and make and receive calls. I'll play with it more when I actually drive somewhere but so far it appears to be working as expected. If it doesn't work or it starts acting flakey again I'll update this thread. Duane...
  7. Nope, at least not reliably. I also had this cool this "feature" where the NEX starts dialing a number and the screen does show up but nothing is happening on the phone. I've finally resorted to just turning on bluetooh on my phone. Now playing music does seem to be working now. Just concerned about the reliability. On my new phone - I set it up on the main screen of the phone then did a restore and it came back as "Duane iPhone 4s" with everything on it. So - if other folks are having no issues I guess the next step is to restore the phone as a new device and reload everything man
  8. Music doesn't like to play and some times I have to start it on the phone to get it to work. Bluetooth phone integration is really messed up. If it does work you can't really count on it. I don't use app radio so not sure about that I'm kinda bummed about the problems though.
  9. Well... I'm having the same issue with the 6 Plus. So I wonder if it's a pioneer problem or an iOS 8 one. Sure would be nice if at least music and Bluetooth phone calls worked... If anyone had any success making it reliable again I would love to hear about it.
  10. That is EXACTLY what is happening with my iPhone 4s and 7000NEX. Everything worked normally the day before but after the upgrade it's pretty much toast. Sometimes when I turn everything on and on again it will work for a bit but it dies shortly thereafter. Honestly I don't expect my difference with the 6 Plus but who knows. Kind of annoying though because I use the hands free and play music through my iPhone most of the time. Hope a firmware upgrade comes out soon smooth all of this out.
  11. Nope heard nothing from them... Heck I forgot I even sent them a question... Kind of a bummer. There are some buggy features in the navigation like this and the trip monitor. Overall though I'm really happy with this unit.
  12. You know I've had a similar intermittent problem when playing music through an iPhone and a cable. Every once in a while it will start popping, once I reset the radio it's fine or if I switch source to like SirusXM. Not sure if this is a similar problem that you're having but it's odd nonetheless.
  13. I using an 7000, iPhone 4s and iTunes on a Mac. My tagged files are in the same place as yours. It's kind of odd that the playlist is at the top and that it's not visible on the device, but it's there. I really like the feature and it's easier than Shazzaming a song.
  14. Just to follow up that was the problem. Ran it for hours today with no issue and haven't had any problems since.
  15. Okay I'm keeping my fingers crossed but it seems like it was an airflow problem. I moved the cables and it seems like it's working. At least it's hasn't overheated within the time it had before. I'll try to let it run longer today.
  16. it doesn't appear you can turn them off but you can change them to a different field. It's covered in the manual (kind of) page 52, Chapter 10 under Data Fields. Get to it by settings -> Navigation Map -> Data Fields Hope that helps!
  17. So driving home it died again but I was able to pull it out. The fan works and I moved the cables and such around and put it back together. I have an hour drive here in a bit so I'll crank the tunes and see what happens. On a positive note it didn't really have a lot of time to cool down and it was on and running, including the fan, while I was moving things around. So REALLY hoping it was a ventilation problem and I have it worked out. Will know later tonight.
  18. I know it's getting hotter but if my radio is on about an hour it says it's overheating and then shuts down. When I get home I'll check to make sure the fan is moving but doesn't seem like a good thing. It has been about 105 here so it's hot... Duane...
  19. I have a different setup but the same problem. I needed up keeping my seek with the track and programmed a different button to go down on the presets. A pain but that was the only workaround I found
  20. I've seen the same thing. I thought, but not sure, that white you could tag/memo and gray you couldn't. I'll have to look into that more though...
  21. On my gmc Sierra 1500 2006 with the PAC module I programmed the prgm key for voice activation and pressing and holding brings up Siri. Yeah programming the unit was a pain but once you get a handle on it it's not too bad. Luckily my installer put it where it was easy to get to do it wasn't that difficult whb I was testing an hanging things.
  22. Sorry about typos using my phone to post this...
  23. In nav, the go to other useful information then the last screen. It's pretty cool, but I you reset your nav it looses the info. Found out the hard way. You can also put maintenance notifications in there. The menus are as intuitive as I would like, but I'm super happy with my 7000 though.
  24. I went ahead and sent them Pioneer asking a question about the difference in the manual and the actual display - if I hear anything back I'll let you guys know.
  25. I don't have a mute button but i have a pause button. That's kind of a pain because it actually pauses navigation - I want it to still show what's coming up I just don't want to have it take over the sound until I really need it. Honestly I wouldn't probably have thought much of it had I not read the manual and it said it had a mute option.
