  1. Maybe that guy who has the map discs on his ftp server will let you post the manual there if you get his permission first. He has an uploads directory.
  2. 1. instead of trying to test another mic on the bt200, take the mic you think is bad and test it on a computer or something. it is a 2.5mm jack, so you may need an adaptor to get it to the 3.5 mm the computer has. then that being said, 2 other things could be the culprit, actually you never really explained what trouble you are having in your post but it sounds like they can hear you, but you cannot hear them. ok, check the data cable that comes from the d3 to the bt200, it fits both plugs, one it will work only half way like you described. depending on what phone you have,
  3. cant remember if it was here or on f150online.com but a guy did a nice write up on installing a D3 into his f150, it would be the same for installing the f series double din.
  4. Downloaded from the ftp site the east coast iso file from the downloads directory. Burned the ISO at 16x on a memorex dl disc, put it in and watched it update. havent noticed much difference, but I havent driven that much in the last week. I think some of the icons on xm are a little different.

    Rear view camera

any camera with a composite output connector will work. if you have a camcorder or digital camera you can connect it up to it.
  6. I checked the manual, the red line you are talking about is the direction line. I could not find any way to turn it off sorry.
  7. answer, none of your business. simple question simple answer. hey astrobill, I just spoke to your buddy at teleatlas, he told me he just gave you that answer so you would stop calling him. the question repeats, why does a (derogetory name here) who doesnt even own a d3 care? are you the dvd police? you win, some people are downloading and burning this because they dont want to spend 120 bucks. now answer the simple question, why dont you have a life? take your time. title of the Post "Are Pioneers discs overpriced?" ok back to your lack of logic. ask 10 people t
  8. that is not me, that is your manager friend at teleatlas. wow you are so clever. He probably has some more map update information he wants to give you, but it requires a local connection. I guess you do know more than anyone about this stuff and I think I know how you got it. oh well, at least you have made a friend.
  9. Hi There, Need a little more info to help here. first of all, there is no way to turn off the internal amp that I am aware of on the D3. Mine is hooked up to a 6 channel amp using 3 pairs of RCA cables. if you are only getting sound from the sub, perhaps the problem is with the rca cables? first, how many channels does the amp have? how many pairs of RCA cables between the D3 and the amp are there? Are the gains on the amp turned up enough? is there a channel selector on the amp? is it set to produce 5 channels(assuming you have 2 pairs of speakers and a sub connected.
  10. I have the nav traffic xm tuner, it doesnt do the nav weather. sorry.
  11. sorry, I dont usually flame anyone but when I read the guy doesnt even own a d3 I just had to.
  12. By the way, unlike ANY of you, I've actually e-mailed back and forth with the TeleAtlas company account manager who manages Pioneer's account about the effort. I know much more than any of you about when Pioneer ordered their data, what was involved in creating the disks, and how it compares to all the other companies' required effort to create map updates. what a loser. First, I doubt this is true, secondly, what kind of a loser called a "company manager" about another companies production proceedures for a map disc to a gps unit he doesnt even own? Then tries to brag about it online
  13. I got rid of my blackbird 2 nav system, between the cost of head unit and the portable unit at the time, it was almost double the pioneer d3, you can add that to your cost comparison. dont really care, my d3 works fine, I downloaded the update from the avic411 site and burned my update disc. for me the d3 sounded better, the ipod controlls function better, xm display looks better, and the bluetooth phone functionality is better. Plus I like the fact that it has a volume control knob. astrobill just doesnt seem to have anything better to do with his/her time, that is what trolls
  14. downloaded and updated over the weekend, coasted the first disc because I burned as a data. noticed some xm channels now have icons where they did not before.
  15. well I may have saved on buying the discs but now I have to go out and get an external dvd dl burner cuz my pc with a burner is locked away in storage 700 miles away. oh well its always nice to get new hardware.
  16. thank you. Someday when I grow up I want to have a server just like Rotun's. FiOs is being installed monday so step 1 is underway.
  17. just got the email from pioneer, the discs are availible for purchase on their website.
  18. To answer your question about the D3 being a good choice, I think depending on what you want, it may be. the D3 is discontinued but you can probably find it new for a good price now. I bought mine last november, paid 750 plus all the accessories. I think you can find it below 500 now with the ipod cable. If you are the type that wants the latest and greatest regardless of price, the F series may be worth looking at. it was introduced a few months ago. good luck

    T-Mobile Dash

I have the Pioneer BT adaptor, I dont have the Dash but there is a Bluetooth compatibility guide. I think the Dash is made by HTC if I am not mistaken, so if you do not see the dash listed, there may be some other htc phones listed. it is a pain to get set up, but once you have it it is nice.
  20. I have a 5.5 gen and I have fw 1.3 no problem with my d3.
  21. and they said it would never happen. Mine is working pretty well so i am fine with the map only update, given all the problems they have been having with the new models, I am not sure I want them to try to improve things. heck if they fixed the small problems on the d3, I would have no reason to be saving for the f900bt.
  22. 1100 dollar head unit and the guy wants to be cheap about taking care of it?? ok, it is late, I didnt mean to flame.
  23. it works pretty good, but some places there is just one way to go.
  24. my N80 transferred just fine, I have since moved on to a blackberry though. the trick is not to get confused when it disconnects. that is your clue to transfer from your phone. good luck
  25. did you have the password set? you may have to touch the 3 spots on the tip of the screen to get the login, there is a section in the manual about this.
