  1. thats not normal. Sounds like the src button could be sticking, or if you have a remote that could be sticking too.
  2. Don't put a higer ampoerage fuse in. Very bad thing to do. If you can take a pic of the power harness. I've seen more than a couple times the pins being backwards causeing the problem your talking about.
  3. Sounds fishy to me. Seller doesn't get money till buyer gets unit makes sense. Why would he care when he gets the money if he really was going to send you the z1. I say take the money and either find someone else or go retail.
  4. Most any decent stereo shop should have a few thousand laying around. Just go in nd ask for the fine thread deck screws.
  5. I've noticed the same thing on a couple that i've put in. Never was able to figure it out.
  6. When you say sleeve, are you talking about the cage? As far as I remember you have to use the factory radio backets on a double din then the plastic dash piece just sorta snaps into place.
  7. I'm guessing on #1, but based on what I've read in the past you don't hook it up to anything. As for the reverse signal, if you don't have a camera and have no intention of getting one, then don't bother hooking it up.
  8. Your not going to be able to reuse any of the stuff that's already in the car. Even though it's all made by pioneer, the cables are all scion specific. The only thing you can do is get an interface that will allow you to retain the steering wheel controls.
  9. In fords you can use the factory overhead in the way you're looking to. It will require some extra steps though in order to make it work. I don't remember what it was exactly that is required to do. I'll check at work tomorrow and see if I still have it laying around in my box.
  10. does it not work when the sun is shining on the screen? If that's the case then that's normal the ir receiver is being blinded by the sun. Happens to my d1 all the time.
  11. yes there is. The metra paart # is 70-1721. You'll find that harness at the factory amp under the stock radio. As for the dash kit for you car, you have 2 options. Number 1 is to get the bezel for the factory nav from the dealer. That'll run about 80 bucks. The other option is to use the metra kit which is about 60 but not a lot of stereo places carry it. The last part you'll need is an antenna adaptor since honda decided to change it.
  12. you'll have to get the pioneer sirius tuner. The factory ford tuner will not work with the z1.
  13. No to both. the factory xm and dvd system can't be hookedup to the z1. though you can reuse the factory xm antenna so you don't have it sitting there doing nothing.
  14. Sort of. If the car doesn't have an accy position then the z1 will not shut off completely when you turn the car off. If you don't have an accy position, you can hook it up to an ignition wire. In the end the red wire needs to be hookd up to a wire that loses power when the car is turned off. The other option is to hook a switch up to te red wire. One side of the switch would go to the red wire and the other side would go to the same place as the yellow wire. then you just shut off the switch when you want the z1 to turn completely off.
  15. PM or email me at cntrylvr01@yahoo.com, might be able to make a trip down that way in the near future and help ya out.
  16. I have an older steering wheel remote, not the one iwh the nav button. It does volume, source, track skip, source, and the best MUTE/ATT. Think I got it for $5 on ebay
  17. It's an issue with that antenna adaptor. What you can try doing is taking that wire on it and splice it into the red wire. It helps sometimes.
  18. make sure the yellow wire isn't losing power when you shut the car off.
  19. Did you hook up the amp turnon wire and the amp ground wires?
  20. Does the truck have the bose system? If it does you'll need a specific interface to replace the radio and retain the bose system. The other option is to completely replace the bose system. That however will get quite expensive
  21. ^^^^^^ What he said. I'd do the suburban first since that's the eaiser of the 2 to do. That way you get a taste of what it'll be like when you get to the vette.
  22. Pics aren't working. Where'd you get the dash kit from? Have had a few people want to replace the radio in legacy's didn't know metra make a kit.
  23. There aren't any ipod docks that will directly allow the ivdeo to go from the ipod to the screen. You'll need that video ipod home dock a power supply for it and jack it into the av input of the avic.
  24. no it doesn't and the brain isn't going to be cheap. Not to mention it's probably stolen so you're also going to need the wiring that goes between the 2
