  1. The truck have the blose system in it? Factory overhead or aftermarket.
  2. Because the public is stupid and plenty of them fall for the bait and switch tactics they employ.
  3. You decide... http://www.resellerratings.com/store/86 ... hoto_Video
  4. I did the same thing with a pioneer 3400 once. Didn't know about the reverse image demo and neither did the customer. We swapped 4 radios and rewwired the harness about a dozen times before actually cracking open the manual and finding the answer. Now I read the manual every time I install something new, and ALWAYS turn the reverse demo off of all pioneer decks....
  5. done a lot of it, then, i presume? no, i've never cut one. but any time one of those thin ass xm antennas accidentallt breaks, its just not worth it to try and fix it. i just replace it But it so much fun reconnecting the cunt hairs on the center conductor. Have had to do it a couple times thanks to a few careless exemployees.
  6. yep, just bypassed a January 08 D3 today the same way as every other d3.
  7. As for the "trick the system into believing that you're always parked" there's 3 stickies on how to do it in the hacks/mods section.
  8. I just saw your post and was curious if the Metra PR01-80 did in-fact hook up to the avic-d3 and function It would save a bunch of time and headaches IMHO if it does. All you need to do is find the VSS wire and then ground the other items if you want "easy" navigation well thank you in advance, John The only way the pro180 works is if you remove the pins for vss, reverse, and parking brake from the orginal avic harness and move them to the pro180. Do yourself a favor and just wire up the avics harness.
  9. hook you console of choice up to the av input.
  10. Depends a lot on the placement of the antenna and the vehicle's dash structure. I've done some where reception was perfect without the pad and others where the reception sucked. Though I do tend to use it if for nothing more than a way to stick the antenna to the dash without having to go find double sided tape.
  11. The vss connection isn't always availible at the radio harness. So your truck may not have the vss wire present in the radio harness. What you can do is pull the gauge cluster, and look for a lt.blue wire in pin 6. If pin 6 is empty, then take a picece of wire and shove it in until in makes contact with the pin. Zip tie it to the rest of the wires and hook that wire up to the pink wire of your avic. I've had to do that on more than a couple xterras and frontiers.
  12. Speed Sense ORANGE AT ECM MODULE UNDER CARPET ON PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR
  13. YEp they're both pac pieces, just a different sticker on the peripheral one.
  14. It's the reverse signal wire. IF you don't have a backup camera then you don't need it.
  15. Thry splice into the vehicle and then plug into the back of the avic. you'll want either the pac swips or the peswips. They're the same part just branded differently. Oh and they work just fine when programmed and installed correctly.
  16. no the backup camera doesn't come up asa a source. You have to go to the map, then you can change the map display to show as split screen of the nav map and the backup camera input.
  17. Go into the connection status screen. Does it go from low to high when you put the car into reverse. If it doesn't then you've got a bad connection to the reverse wire or you have the wrong wire.
  18. Drive around with the connection status screen up. Watch the speed pulse number at the top of the list. Watching the speedometer on the vehicle dynamics won't do you any good since the avic can calculate your speed from the gps signal alone.

    dumb ass ?

YO I needz yo ta installate the BUMP in my Ta-Lon. got that one today. It was an old eagle talon, the the owner pronounced TA Lon with a long A.....
  20. Have you tried plugging the stock radio back in? Does it still turn on? If not, then you've got a blown fuse somewhere. If it does still turn on, then the truck may use a canbus trigger to turn on the stock deck. If that's the case you'll have to run a tap from the ignition to the red wire of the avic. If you can post a picture of the dash of the vehicle that would help.
