I returned one of my 8000 9 months after having it by complaining to my visa, if you paid with a credit card check with them. In fact it was because connected services wouldn't work as to why they allowed the return. Pioneer did advertise it in they're CES YOUTUBE videos explaining the feature wouldn't work until AVICSYNC. Now that there are other units out I'm really investigating them for the features I want. I have to keep my other unit because I paid cash and I'm in contact with pioneer about returning this one also. I'll see what happens with this one.

When u hit the volume u will see alerts volume on the bottom right of ur screen, u can adjust it there

I bought mine weeks after initial release with the expectation everythg worked, I had a z2 that stopped working so it was good timing. After the install i called pioneer about several glitches and was told about a patch and that Avicsync was due out soon, it was waiting for approval from Apple. It never came out as you know. I knew app radio was a bit wonky but I really liked the radio and was willing to sacrifice a while before the patches came. Then they announced CarPlay and I was excited and hopeful but still disappointed with no Avicsync to get the connected services that I was hoping fo

What do u mean keeps losing u? Are u losing gps signal or is ur icon driving off ur screen?

I can't speak for all, but u can call to find out if that's a route u are interested in. I Am returning my wife's and keeping mine until something better comes a long

Simple solution, if you paid with a credit card call them and start a refund process for an unfinished non working unit as i did. The non working Avicsync, Connected services and I datalink portion is enuff for a full refund as my credit card told me. I bought one unit cash and one I a credit card so at least I can return one, even though it's been 9 months. What will I get to replace,I dont know, but ill wait to see who's unit actually works as advertised.

I did a comparison on pioneer web site between 8100 and 8000 and notice there is no check mark next to the 8000 for datalink support

I love my unit and I'm disappointed with pioneer. The problem is there is not a single head unit out there that gives you all the options my nex 8000 gives me.

I love my 8000, I'm very disappointed it's not complete, I doubt we will see Avicsync until the new models come out. I am highly disappointed in pioneer and I doubt i will purchase another product from the company unless it blows me away.

U can do it with just the iPhone also u don't need a separate iPod but yes u can

Hey Siri all depends on network connection, sometimes it works well for me and sometimes it doesn't whether I'm plugged into my nex or my outlet at home. It's an apple issue, not a pioneer issue in my opinion
