a pinched wire is where it gets caught between something and either causes a break in the wire or stops the current completely. it happened to me back when i did my first stereo install. one example would be if your yellow wire (constant+) or your red wire (12vpower) got pinched against a metal surface and is causing a short. check every wire out.

Sorry, I was just frustrated with guys like this around here. No doubt the new F series rocks, especially for the money. just a navigation option alone costs well over that. then bluetooth which acts like onstar...and on star is another expensive option. and another thing, members here are getting f700bts for under 700, and its the same as the 90bt except for the warranty the preouts and a dvd player. which if you dont care about the preouts and you own an ipod video or an external dvd player, its the same thing. Also, the 700 doesn't come with the ipod cable like the 90 does. You have to buy it separately. oh yeah forgot about that lol but even so with the amount of money youd be saving buying an avic

did you have to force it bak in place? it sounds like a pinched wire. take it out, check your connections, make sure its all good and check the fuse on the bak of the unit too.

hook the power supply upto whatever way you want it to turn on, either by switch or when the radio is on, and then put the a/v wires in the aux input on the deck that way when youre under if youll bottom out just goto the AUX and itll be up.

sorry for the probably newbish question but i didnt rly understand what ur trying to do.... i think tho that ur tryin to get music and internet on ur laptop through ur car....couldnt you just get a wireless interenet thing for your laptop and then run the laptop thru the audio and video inputs on the deck and itd be what you were trying to accomplish??

mine's weird. it understands 'change source to {whatever}' and can do the dial pad but the 'play artist {whatever}' and phone calls are just awful. Same here. "Change Source to ..." works. "Call " works. "Play " works. But "Call " doesn't. Oh... and no GPS Voice recognition. So you can't tell it to "take me to sexy mama". Sadness.... ahh! no sexy mama!?

if the sun shines directly on myne the screen just looks white. Uh yeah that's not good. well its the glare off the screen. this was also at 8 in the morning with the sun beaming right through the rear window (no tint), and you can see what i mean in the picture under my posts.

i made a splash screen in 500x240 Pixel size but the picture comes up a fraction of the size.. has anyone else had this happen? this is what it should look like:: this is how it comes out::

decks generally only come in 2 sizes, din and double din. the dash kit i ordered for an 05 stang came yesterday and it fits perfectly. the f also fits perfect in my 8.

Hifisi, witht that program can you put a dvd in the drive and itll convert? or you need to do something else? reason im asking is i use clonedvd2 and anydvd to burn movies, but an error message comes up saying the data source is too large, if the movie is over 2 hours long. i also have a program called videora to convert to mpeg 4 for the ipod

UPDATE:: i regret to inform that im abandoning this project. i ended up buying an f700bt & my friend who was going to do the LED's is buying the Z...but since his interior is now blue (he changed all the leds in his car), he has no reason to open it up. it sux cuz we were so close to doing it, we have the LED's and everything, but if anyone has the skills/knowledge/interest to do it, its very possible and VERY overestimated.

Buyers beware. There's only 11 reviews, but most seem abysmal for autoys. ironic i just tried that before to see if the bars on the connection status went up. it didnt do anything.
