What exactly do you mean by search one by one? Can you choose a playlist and just play the whole list? Can you browse playlists while a track continues playing? one by one - i meant you have to press next after each artist/song/genre/album you can choose playlist easily and If i remember correctly, you can listen to a song while browsing for another song

I also have te same problem, a few feet too short. I cant compare it to the roof. Ive always had on my dash, but is it really more accurate on the roof?

if you have Verizon, you *may* have issues, I know Verizon disable alot of feature of blue tooth on my phone. V710. I dont have the Z1, but Ive tried other blue tooth things, for example communicating with my computer, Ill i can get blue tooth to do is headset, and internet. you can hack it to enable everything, but tis a process

HeavenSoldier - avic uses teleatlas, mapquest and all the other map sites use a mix between the two, some states teleatlas some cities maybe navteq, all mixed up.

what AJ said is correct about nav, you dont use it in area you know. even in manuals of navs, they choose the simplest route to get you from a to b. We know of short cuts, and the avic-z1 learns those if you use them often while in guide mode.

well people have upgraded with the new dvds, and said the same thing. And if you look on the pioneer site, they say it as well

HeavenSoldier - i heard about the recall you mentioned. I read it in some car audio forum, I dont know what the recall is about, but i heard about a recall too.

you can get the same maps and some of the same firmware. BUT the main differences are hardware. n3 has enhanceed xm and ipod, and n2 does not, nor can it have that. its a hardware issue.

i love hearing that! hahaha, i guess the "upgraded maps" arnt really an upgrade guest - the d2 comes w/ the latest maps

ipod, no. There is ipod2car Gen2. I got it but returned it. Its similar to the pioneer one, but better. If you can deal w/ it I guess you will like it. But i didnt like how you had to search one by one. The best thing was it showed 16 characters at a time, and it scrolled title/artist all together. its was great. But for me, that was the only pro. I think pioneer is making there own sirius adapter so maybe that will work better w/ the d1, vs the universal type one that im assuming you have.

wired correctly? did you try resetting the unit?

well look at the "animated water" its two or three pics thasy just cycle

I know the avic n1,n2, d1, d2 have radio, so id assume the n3 does. It has "super tuner" thats there fancy radio reception technology

I think the biggest differences, is the look is a little different than the N2, updated maps, and enhanced ipod and xm. Thats about it.

well, the animations dont seem like animations, just one pic to another, fading into each other, but for an animation i guess make 20images and have it fade into each other, or something, but i guess that would be programing or something.

the dealer would prob rip you off badly, dont bring it to best buy or circuit city, they are the worst and dont care about the Job. bring it to a professional stereo shop in ur area to do it, You will pay more than circuilt city and bestbuy, but its worth it in the end, or install your self. if your brave enough, i installed my d1. it took time but overall was easy

I want to do this too, itd be cool to have a logo spinnign around. I know the basics of flash, and i know 3d programs, I can get teh animation done, i just dont know how to get it into pim format.

you dont have any issues with the pim being transparent or anything?

the DVDS are on ebay. They say they are the same for all the avics? IS this right?
