  1. post quantity means jack.. quality is king. It's been said that he's openly selling pirated software on an open forum... give it time and he or the site will get shut down... Even in canada OWNING pirated stuff is a grey area... selling it is where it gets illegal. He's trying to help out others that are having problems with downloading and burning the disks themselves. Offsetting the cost is a noble way of doing it. I'm pretty sure that he's not going to get rich doing this so why are you complaining so much? At most let's be generous and say 10 people get the dual set... that's
  2. No, unfortunately not... I was in the same boat as you for the longest time until I bought a remote off of ebay. Took forever to get to me, but the same night I got it I was able to downgrade and now my nav works like new. Just no update... Fortunately a very helpful forums member is sending me a working 80 disk in the mail right now. So i'm looking forward to that... if you can't locate a working disk for yourself, get the remote. Old navigation is better then no navigation. I too have a D3.
  3. alrighty, here's a heads up for you... and will solve all the confusion... VWs don't have switched accessorys. So the Red wire is working perfectly... according to VW. What you'll need to do is buy an external switch and manually turn on the deck every time you turn on the car. It's a shitty way of doing it but sorry about your VW. oh, and yes, that is a terrible tape and connection job.. just because the ends of the harnesses are stripped back 1/4" doesn't mean that you can't use more of the wire. Use some wire strippers to strip back around a full 1" to 1 1/2" per side to twist toget
  4. well, firefox and Fetch FTP both lost connection to the server around 850megs again. Can someone point out what I am doing wrong? Is there a way to resume the downloads after connection loss?
  5. I've had the same problem where it's downloading, and then stops at 894 mb... This has been with safari on both an XP machine and an OSX.5 machine. I guess I'll downloads Firefox and give that a try.
  6. you will need all those parts you listed. I've done this in my Charger and used the SCC1C tuner, with the pioneer to sirius IP bus interface. Works perfectly.
  7. yeah, unfortunately I had to tranfer the file from my VUZE folder to an external HDD and burn the disks with my VistaPC. Didn't even want the hassle of trying to do it all on the mac.
  8. http://store.apple.com/ca/product/MB129 ... MTIxODk3Mw unless you get this cable, run your Ipod as the AV1 source. You won't be able to control the ipod from the deck if you do it this way, but at least you'll get the video on the screen.
  9. hmmm... good call. Do the F series use this disk? Cause we have some f900/700 at work so I can check those boxes. I thought that they were HDD though.
  10. mine did the same, after driving home from my install bay, it also fixed itself. Guess it just has to learn the style of output from the car.
  11. they won't pull you over suspicion... only if you're physically caught watching it while driving. They won't just hop into your car, and try to watch a DVD.
  12. well, have tried numerous other methods to the same result. Roxio at 1x after decompressing the UIF into ISO seemed to give the most hope. I'm beginning to think that the way I updated the unit with the UIF burnt to a DL DVD might be the culprit. I loaded up both the UIF disk and the ISO disk to computer and they looked identical. So there must be some other variable. I'll downgrade the D3 back to factory once I get the proper D3 remote and give'er a try.
  13. I work for FS, so we could severely cut down the cost of those DL +Rs
  14. Went through all 22 pages only to find some minor help, most of it being to try different programs, uncompressing the UIF before burning, yadda yadda. I'll give some of the advice a try tonight and post up my results. I too am having problems with the "Insert the appropriate disk" with my D3.
  15. lyou're doing well, it took me 3 days to complete... have patience young grasshopper.
  16. 1. I only have the west coast disc. [that's fine, that's all I need] 2. Download the torrent file from the rapidshare link: http://rapidshare.com/files/142615724/a ... rrent.html [done] 3. Use your favorite torrent program do download this. Please don't bitch at me because of speed, I am seeding the best I can, and with over 40 people now downloading this things can go slow. YES I will continue to seed but will slow it down some over the weekend when I am home and not sleeping so I can actually use my internet connection. [that's alright, it took a few days but it's downloaded]
  17. hmmm.. I was wondering the same thing, when I first burnt it. Which is confusing as to how the pioneer was able to update properly errr.. not properly as it doesn't work the nav, but update at all.
  18. ok, question for ya, I burnt the uif file to a +R DL RW DVD... loaded it into my D3, it checked the file and updated. When it rebooted I wasn't getting any of the beeps or pongs when touching the screen. I was like "ok, this is weird" but I was getting my sirius audio. After a couple seconds the drive came to live and made a whirring, and I got my pongs and beeps back, it then spit out the burnt disk. So here I am, pressing the nav button, and it doesn't do anything. Hmm... So I go into the audio setup and try switching to the nav menu.. it sits at a black screen, then crashes the unit
  19. actually, that's the most illegal way to do it. North of the border here owning downloaded software is a grey area with the law. I had well over 10,000 mp3s and sitting in a Law Enforcement Agency polygraph test I admitted to that, all I got was a "well, that makes you look bad, you should delete some" now if i were selling burnt CDs to friends, or bootleg copies, like you're proposing and making profit off of it. That is a criminal offense.
