  1. The 3D mode won't have street names As far as the memory not storing, I had the same problem and the problem went away on its own about 2-3 days after. Can't tell you why it didn't work at first, but the problem went away.
  2. Funny this is the exact thing that happened to me yesterday. I held the reset button down and the unit went into frenzy and do the infinite reboot loop. I'll probably be doing the reload of 3.1fx tonight and see if that helps. Should've sold the unit when it was working at 100%. Anyone wanna buy mine?
  3. First and foremost, I'd like to thank the OP for the contribution. Greatest "mod" ever. Today's the first day I'm running the new firmware. I have a couple issues with the update. After reading 35+ pages of this thread, I see many also encounters these. 1. Illumination color can't be set and it returns to "random" every time I start car. 2. Screen brightness can't be set and always return to "10" every time I start the car. 3. Voice is always English-Jason after I restart the car. 4. No street names in 3-D mode unless it's zoomed in. Anyone with solutions to thes
  4. I thought about upgrading, but sure don't want to throw extra money into this problematic unit. For $120, I might as well buy a brand new single din unit that works well.
  5. I've done the "possible reboot fix". After I do the reboot fix, it "helped" for a week and the problem comes back. Deleting those gpsparaxxxxx files religiously is like putting a bandaid on a wound.
  6. I have the same problem. I have the unit since 2008 and the problem comes and goes. There'll be months with NO issues.. and then there'll be days when it reboots 4-5 times within a 30 min drive. This is not quite the same problem as the infamous "reboot at start-up". My system boots, plays music.. and reboots after 5-10 min of usage. I have a F90, so I had 2 years to send to Pioneer to repair this problem. Over and over again they'd just reload the software and that's about it. I tried calling them, emailing them.... they'd never reply to my inquiries regarding the problem. Th
  7. I have the same problems as the OP. 1. I used to have the same problem with the Bluetooth not hanging up after a call. I changed phones from a NOKIA 6500 to a Sony Ericsson P1. Bluetooth works flawlessly. So it could be phone dependent. 2. I shipped my unit to Pioneer for the Right channel distortion. They shipped my unit back without any solution. All they did was reloaded my software from my 2.0 to 2.06. I've tried new composite cable, different ipod.. no help. Seems like the only viable solution in this forum is hardwire the connection together. Good luck to all. I'v
  8. Good luck guys. I sent my unit in to fix a random reboot problem (sent it in twice already). I addressed the ipod problem like the OP has (mine is cutting out on the right channel; composite cables replaced and no avail.). I also SPECIFICALLY wrote in my letter to give me a call once the unit is received. Guess what? They never called. Just like last time, all they did was "reload software", which in this case they gave me 2.06 but wiped out my bluetooth. I tried to do the "Customer service evaluation" but the invoice/work order I got from Pioneer is invalid and can't evaluate my exp
  9. Hi all, My unit is full of bugs and I've sent it to Pioneer to get it repaired multiple times. This very last time I sent it in and while I was running firmware 2.0, they updated it with 2.06. 2.06 is working fine, but my bluetooth isn't working. I found out after I made my first call and the unit will not hang up the phone and froze. I checked the BT software version and it says "version not found". I tried to download the latest software from the Pioneer site and when I try to update it, it'd stuck on the "....do not power off, please wait...." for 40+ minutes. I've tried the
  10. I have the exact same problem. Finally someone is sharing my pain! In this forum, most people are experiencing reboots at startup. Mine doesn't do that. It reboots randomly out of no where. I sent my unit to Pioneer and they "reloaded the software". The unit worked great daily with my commute to work (20-30 minutes). Last weekend I took a road trip and viola, problem is back again (3-4 hrs into roadtrip). I sent the unit back in while my 2 year Premier warranty is still active. I mentioned to them could it be heat related.
  11. Im not sure if I remember it correctly, but I remember reading somewhere that the RCA cables attached TO the unit, inside the soldering is weak, causing the channel loss. Anyone can chime in on this? I have the same problem.
  12. Do you use a MAC? I use a MAC and when transferring files to an external media, MAC duplicates some hidden files onto the media which are not readable by the unit. As far as the crashing goes, I had that problem and I sent it to Pioneer for a fix. All they did was reload the software and my problem still exist. Not as frequent, but still does it.
  13. I've always had problems with my Nokia phone. Bluetooth hangs and random cutoff. I switched to a Sony Ericsson phone and seems to work better with the unit.
  14. This question is to Whoie15. After your system reboots, what does it do? 1. Does it play music again (as if you turn off your car and then turn back on)? 2. Does it stay at the opening screen (DESTINATION/CONTACTS/SOURCE)? If it's #1, check your power supply. My case is #2. It's not a simple power drop or anything. The unit resets itself and settings such as "AV1 source - IPOD" gets resetted to OFF.
  15. that's very similar to the problem im having. on this forum, many are experiencing reboot at startup screen. mine doens't reboot at startup, but randomly in the middle of operation.
