  1. Highway signs do work for me, and exit numbers too, the only thing is it seems to have few speed limit information, but i have not yet compared to TA, so I'm not sure if this is true. I will verify and comment back later. I guess it depends on where do you live, I would say try to get the latest maps from both and try then to see what works for you one provider might be better in some areas than the other. Also, it looks like TA has more POIs, so for now I'm using Navteq maps with TA POIs.
  2. couple days ago, my F90BT quit booting, is got frozen on a blank screen. I have seen this happening to a lot o people. Just FYI I got it back and working by following this thread. THANKS A LOT!
  3. Just in case that you are interested, I found this post about the Navteq 2011 Q2 Maps for North America. http://gpsunderground.com/forum/igo-maps/12597-usa-canada-igo-r3-navteq-2011-q2-maps-poi-hnr-fda-building-unlocked.html I tested with FX 3.1 on a F90BT and works great, in my area Navteq seems more accurate. Just FYI.
  4. After doing a little research about the 3d buildings working on some color schemes but not in other, i found out that the problem is actually not the color schemes but a missing file on the unit. luckily, people was able to get the 3d buildings to show up with some color schemes like "JohnCougar1" because this color scheme includes an additional section that configures the "clip_planes" settings for the HP units. the problem is actually that the file "clip_planes" is missing from our data.zip.... In short: uncompress and copy the content of the attached file to the folder /ui_pioneer/comm
  5. Boris, I finally managed to get the 3d city buildings to show (*.3dc) i was just missing the right license file... anyways... now that i can see the buildings, i noticed that the unit is rendering only the 3d models not the textures (i mean, only 3d transparent blocks). On my PDA version the buildings get transparent only when you are close to them (so you are able to see the roads behind) but other buildings are rendered with their proper texture (showing buildings with windows, and other details) any idea of how to get the unit to display the textures in the building? i tried with "use_
  6. To activate the camera sound warning you need the following mod: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17820
  7. Boris, 1st wow... thanks for the quick response... 2nd, yes, i installed the hacked ezrider and a new set of maps 2008.4 NA, this includes maps, pois, and buildings (3dl landmarks and 3dc buildings). i made sure that there are 3dl and 3dc files for Ohio. also checked the sys.txt and it contains: [debug] enable_buildings=1 Any idea? By the way i own a 90BT, i don't know if it makes any difference
  8. Boris, I tried the new setting file replacing the ui files on your 2.0 files. it showed a new menu under setting that allows changing the setting of building visibility as expected. however, I could not notice any difference, it seems to have not effect (unless i'm looking the wrong thing) i was expecting to get buildings to show in addition to the common 3d landmarks. I installed the maps 2008.4 NA on my avic and I have the same maps on my IGO8 on my PDA, the PDA show a lot o buildings on Cleveland, but the AVIC only show the 3d landmarks not the buildings. Do i expect to see the buildin
  9. Actually, I'm not a windows user, but a LINUX user... I use 7zip under wine (windows environment emulator) and works flawless, never had any problems with my data.zip, and i had changed it a LOT, the unit had never frozen on me due to a bad zip file. PD: Now, About Mac user... ummm sorry, i have not idea if there is any windows environment emulator for MAC, but if you have a mac don't bother, just use WinRar i hear a lot of good recommendations about it.
  10. I'm using 7zip, which is actually the default compressors used by Nav N' Go the creator of our navy software... it works great for me, FREE (complete application, NOT EVALUATION), and most important it's the same used by the unit itself to decompress the zip files which ensure compatibility.
  11. As promised, here are the most up to date files from trapster Covering USA (Alaska and Puerto Rico), Canada, and Mexico. This time i separated the database on three files: 1 static cameras. 2 redlights 3 mobile It was noticed that there is to many mobile cameras (probably due to people creating locations points every time they see a cop around), Anyways, now you can install only the files that suit your needs... Thanks mtbjoe for the suggestion. Note: In order to separate the data base I'had to use a sort function which split the files, for this reason i need your help to

    wince

Just for your information, the Windows CE emulator described in this post can run under LINUX, (if you are a linux user, like myself, but still wanna mod you AVIC) Just follow the instructions posted in this website. download the indicated files. Note to install msi files on linux you need to use the following command on the terminal: wine msiexec /i xyz.msi this will run the installation of the msi files downloaded. Copy the file :~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Windows Mobile 6 SDK/PocketPC/DeviceemulationV610/0409/PPC_USA.BIN to the wine folder where you installed the em
  13. If you intereted on changing the default "DOG" warning sound, here are some siren wav files. some of them are really cool. http://www.tnaccess.com/users/seahawk/siren.htm
  14. mtbjoe, i noticed that myself. the problem appears to be with the "possible hidden police location = mobile cameras" probably people is creating points wherever they see a cop (wich is silly), BUT THAT IS WHY WE NEED TO PUT OUR TWO CENTS AND HELP EDITING THE CAMERAS ON OUR AREAS, so the data base becomes more reliable. For next update, i will try to separate the database in three files: 1 - Static speed cameras 2 - Red-light cameras 3 - Possible hidden police locations = mobile cameras So, you could choose which one to install according to your needs.

    HD Radio

the HD radio device for the F-serie is called GEX-P10HD, I own one myself and it sounds pretty good, good reception, and catch a lot of digital stations around my area. look this web site for more info: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... /GEX-P10HD you can get it pretty much from any car/audio site like sonic-electronix, crutchfield, even ebay It is a hide away box, so, you can install it in a hidden place on ur dash or any other location, since you don't need to touch it anymore after installation, all the manipulation is done thought the Avic screen.
