  1. I have navtraffic on my Z3 as well and TRFC indicates that it's connected and is receiving data. I do see all the updates when TRFC is displayed.
  2. When you program your PAC be sure to do it while the engine is running as on some vehicles it uses voltage levels to sense which button is pushed on the steering wheel controls. You will get more accurate and quicker response this way as it will be programmed to use the higher system voltages present when the engine is running.
  3. I don't have pictures but it's on the right side kick panel in the body ECU. V-W ECU PD/PC IP JB2 PA SIDE PAGE 20 and 36 of the electrical manual. Get me your email address and I'll send the .PDF files to you from the factory manual. There are some diagrams that will help in the manual. PS, just noticed that you need both reverse and VSS. I can send both once I get your email address. Mike
  4. Not all areas support NavTraffic. Most major metro areas are supported but apparently NO is not. I believe that it is linked to local traffc broadcasts so if there is no local station hosting the service then you won't get it. ...reading your post again you may want to confirm with NavTraffic that NO actually has a host.
  5. Thanks to everyone for all the information that was posted on the site for the Z2 upgrade. Hopefully, I can help some of you who were trying to save some of the settings from your old Z1. This was important to me as I had close to 100 entries in my address book. After searching the site I could not find any information on how to save address book settings, history, recent calls list, route information, route history, etc. So, for anyone who is interested, here’s what I did when I upgraded my Z1. To make this work you should first follow AFmagnums instructions on how to do the upgra
  6. Good to hear that you are on track tweety. Hope you get your amp repaired soon. My JL system rocks! You'll enjoy it!
  7. Check page 156 in the manual. The source has to be off to change this setting. I believe the default setting is to use the low level sub output. The other setting allows you to use the rear speaker leads to drive a subwoofer directly without an external amp. Setting the rear output and subwoofer controller The navigation system’s rear output can be used for full-range speaker or subwoofer connection. If you switch Rear SP setting to the Sub.W, you can connect a rear speaker lead directly to a subwoofer without using an auxiliary amp. Initially, navigation system is set for rear
  8. Last time I set up a route using waypoints it was OK one time but you cannot save it. Each time you'll need to add the WP's again. Maybe it's just me but I could not figure out how to save the WP's for the saved route in the address book. That sucks too!
  9. Be sure that you burn the CD as a 'Mode 1' CD. Most newer programs burn as 'Mode 2' by default. Look for that setting and change it to 'Mode 1'.
  10. Actually you could do this by ripping the CD to a music editor and then making one track out of the entire CD. The only problem then is that you will not be able to select an individual track. Also, there may be a limit to the size of a single track that may not allow this. If you really want no pauses that's the only way that I know to do it.

    amp question

Tweety, listen to whtcrxghst he is correct. I have JL amps in my setup as well and using the RCA for Fr, Rr, and Sub is the way to go. You can adjust fade at the HU or the amps that way. It's the best of both worlds.
  12. On the U turn thing, I took a 2500 mile trip last weekend. During that trip the navi asked me to make U turns several times. On a couple of occasions it actually stated "Make a legal U turn when possible" This was in Tennessee. That was the first time I heard that message. In some other cases it tried to change my route by making three right turns instead of one left. It does appear that at times it takes traffic laws into account when you are being re-routed. I have a Z1 built in Sept '06.
  13. My Maxima is dead on with the GPS speed, My Tacoma is 2-3 MPH slower. I guess it depends on the manufacturer.
  14. tmiles you may want to look at the post in the troubleshooting section. Seems like many of us are experiencing the same problem. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6614
  15. It was a canned bitmap that had "RING" written in big letters on it. It had what looked to be a latin theme. Many bright colors, etc. The call came from some spanish language telemarketer. Weird! I never saw that on any call before.
