  1. If your happy with that, then I am quite sure we are all happy for you!
  2. YEP, same thing here... Never bothered me too much.
  3. I have no experience with the Chevy camera. But a friend of mine is using his OEM camera with the F series. He has a Toyota Tacoma. I will ask him how he did it.
  4. Hmmm, that sounds interesting. Let us know how that works for you.
  5. Stolen from someone wiser than I... 1 - unzip the contents of that attachment 2 - Put the two folders contained in that attachment on an SD card. 3 - Put the SD card in the F-series and turn it on 4 - Once it has finished the "copying" close the copying window by clicking the X 5 - You have now booted the unit to windows mode. Enjoy.

  7. Your 900bt came with a building file??? WOW, I wish I was that lucky!
  8. I pinched mine when installing. I used some of the liquid electrical tape and it has never been an issue. I guess it depends on how badly the wires were cut.
  9. Tap the center icon that looks like a 3D grid... It will go away. Then if you want it back, you just tap the screen while in 3D mode and it will return.
  10. This was one of the first mods I did and I have been pleased with it. Yesterday something odd began to happen when in 3D mode. The map begins with the new icon in the correct place and moving as it should. BUT, I can see underneath it the tips of the red arrow. After a short distance, the red arrow will come out from under neath my custom icon and go on its way alone leaving my custom icon to sit at the starting point. I cannot think of any mods that I have recently done that would effect the arrow, the custom icon or the way they work. Any suggestions? This is ONLY in 3D mode. Thanks, T
  11. I had made several successful changes to the unit prior to this happening. And in fact, on the day that it began I had not made any changes in several days. It is only doing this about 1 out of 5 times that I get in the truck. I am trying to determine if there is a common factor between the times it occurs. If it continues, I will revert back to the stock software and see if it fixes the issue. T
  12. It will be extremely interesting to hear what you find on that drive! That is the same drive that I have sitting on my desk and it has operated flawlessly!
  13. Without sounding like a prick, I would have to say that its more likely neither of the items were defective and something was connected incorrectly. The problem is, depending on what was connected incorrectly, damage could have been done. With all electronics... check the fuses, check the ground, check the fuses again, check the ground again and when your done with this... do it again. If none of the fuses are bad, and the grounds are good and solid, make sure that your vehicle specific harness was connected properly. If none of this illuminates the issue, then its more serious than c

  16. Ding Ding we have a winner... This is proof positive that you canot always trust EVERYTHING that is written in the manuals. I have a 32GB Corsair Flash Voyager and it works fine. Its a PITA to navigate to the item I want, but it works without issue.
  17. When I had my D3 with BT module and xm module it was a little more complicated... But this unit has everything built in to a single unit. As was said earlier, plug in and run the wires for the mic and the GPS and your done. Everything else is exactly as youve done before only with a little bigger case. Good luck and let us know how it goes! T
  18. No problem... If it makes any difference, I have a 1TB stack that everything is also stored on, so this is really just a backup! Good luck with your quest, and DO let us know how it turns out! T
  19. I have a 160 GB portable hard drive with 60gb of music and about 40gb of movies. If you are interested, and due to the amount of assistance you have been in my quest for the perfect AVIC... I would be willing to ship it to you. The music is EVERYTHING from classical to classic rock, to rock, rap, hip hip, R & B... I listen to everything, and often DL's music just because I could! Movies include mostly action/adventure and several movies that are either still in theatres or just out of the theatre. I dont keep junk CAM videos! T
  20. Check this thread... There are some things you must do before just updating maps. http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19346
  21. Worked flawlessly, thanks again Boris!
  22. Can either Boris or Bob post where the zoom and tilt level settings were. I have done a FIND for them in all of the .UI's and cant seem to find these settings. I would like to be able to tilt farther down than what is currently available. TIA, Terry
  23. YES, I would suggest you pull it out immediately and list in the the classifieds here! There is no reason to torment yourself with owning such an inadequate product!
